I think it would be cool if they do a crossover between the old ThunderCats and the new ThunderCats in one episode or made for tv movie!
Not sure if that wiuld work / be possible, there are many differences between the 2 shows (ages, relationships, etc). Or what are you thinking about?
I was really inspired by the “Turtles Forever” tv movie! Maybe the ThunderCats all use the time capsule and all travel back in time or something interesting…this is really to satisfy original fans.

Somehow the writers could make the modern Thundercats travel back in time due to Mumm-ra magically sends them back in time, there they meet the 80’s ThunderCats. There they grow/work as a team…along the way 80’s snarf teaches modern snarf how to talk ! lol

i dont see the original series as “back in time” so much as in a parallel reality. there has really been no indication that the original series has any bearing on the history of the new series
the OS isn’t the in the NS’s past. But I see what he’s saying. In Turtles forever it was more of a parallel reality thing. Dimension hopping. I don’t really want to see it because there’s too many ways to ruin it. I’d only be ok if it was done really well somehow.
Turtles Forever is quite good, sucks they could not get the original voice actors cause of some stupid union thing.
I would not mind a “Thundercats Forever” Fun to see how they react upon each other. Both teams tell what’s happend for each other and maybe in the end Both Lion-O and their Swords beats both Mumm-Ra in the end. NS Lion-O could even comment on how the OS sounds like his dad.. All those fun things they did with Turtles could be done here with justice
Probably wont be good storywise though, but a fun thing for fans. It does not even have to be part of the NS but just a “what if” TV special.
Turtles forever worked so well because there have been so many different versions of the Turtles through the decades it’s plausible that there’s some sort of TMNT multiverse like DC and Marvel have. Thundercats has had basically three versions: The original cartoon, the comics (which are largely just a continuation of the cartoon) and the revival series. Given the limited resources to draw on I don’t think it would work quite as well as “Turtles Forever” but it would be interesting to see if they were able to make it work.
Part of the problem with this is that at least one of the people connected with the OS are dead. Also, we’re talking about 2 very different animation styles which may cause some issues.
The only REAL way for this to work, would be if they included a 22 minute make-out session between the 2 Cheetaras…

As much as I love the OS I really wouldn’t want to see them attempt something like this. It could work if they did it right, but there are just so many places where a project like this could go wrong.
For those of you who believe in Murphy’s Law. 
Part of what made Turtles Forever work WAS the meshing of absolutely different animation styles. Each world/character was drawn in its original style. Great stuff. Directors Cut FTW.
