It wasn’t that kind of love potion and Ponzi did explain it. It was the kind that made you in touch with your feelings and act all lovey dovey with everything. Didn’t you see how Tygra was behaving? If it was the bad kind of love potion that made someone fall in love with you then I’d be with you on that point.

I guess I need to rewatch it. Either way, slipping something into someone’s drink is wrong.
I’m not saying he wanted to do something horrible to her. I know he’s not like that. Even if it was only to get her to open up about her feelings, it’s still wrong to slip something into her drink without telling her.
Oh no doubt it’s wrong. But I think he learned his lesson when Tygra drank it instead. Why else would he pretty much let Tygra get off with prancing in flowers while the rest of them worked.

First time poster here. I am still on the fence about today’s episode. I felt it was a episode of Dragon Ball Z, which I love but I don’t think I want Thundercats to be DBZ. I feel like there maybe too many writings creating too many variations of episodes.
Liked this episode , but I agree . yeah huh? not necceraly a bad thing but one moment this show is all a big and epic war story , next moment it’s a sensitive fantasy tale , or a romantic novel , then it’s all dark and sirious again , and when you least expect it , it’s packed with crazy comedy .
I don’t think it is a bad thing but it would be better if it was so apparent, and every show wasn’t so one sided towards a particle typology. That said I like the show I just wish I knew what I was getting from week to week.
HAHAHA. That made the episode. I almost fell of my couch because I was laughing so hard. Which made Tygra on the love potion even funnier.
Yeah, I thought that too, like why didn’t he just do that in the first place and wipe them all out? He could have walked into Thundera without tech or lizards.
But decades of being a Star Wars and Marvel fan has gotten me used to creating my own off-screen reasons for explaining things. I’m going with him finding those demon ashes in Mount Plundarr last episode. 
Or maybe he needed to get the Sword back and prove he can do something right before the Ancient Spirits would let him do something like this since he’s still, apparently, their bi**h.
Hey - I’m a new poster too. I have to say, I went back and forth with it. There were good and frustrating parts. It was good for what it was – a light-hearted fun episode. Almost every cat character was involved (missed the kittens!), and there was just gorgeous colorful animation.
The Frustrating: I am frustrated at what the ep might have shown. This close to the finale, I hoped to see the cats working better together as a team to solve their own problems. For me, the Deus ex Mothra endings are getting a bit unsatisfying. I’d also like to see the plot reveal more about each character’s skills. It seems to me that the characters don’t know each other very well. And as the audience, I have the feeling that I still don’t know what they’re capable of.
For Panthro – he’s good at making traps (from Survival of the Fit.), why not make a trap or something for Mumm-ra’s creature? And what else can Panthro do?
For Cheetara – she runs faster than the Thundertank! Why wouldn’t Lion-O ask her to catch Ponzi instead of waving at him with a sword (though that was funny). And regarding magical elixirs, isn’t Cheetara supposed to be a powerful magical wizard trained by the baddest powerful magical wizard in Thundera or something? Shouldn’t she be all over potions and magic? Her magic has been more of an informed attribute than anything in the series – it would have been great to see her do something magical or wizard…ical.. in this episode.
For Tygra, he’s been sitting on Chekhov’s Whip for like five episodes. If it’s not going to do anything better or different than the old whip, why even give him a new one?
For Pumyra, she was introduced as fiercely independent, but has ironically functioned as Lion-O’s Damsel in Distress™ for every episode since. So far, she hasn’t really had much development or dialog at all outside of her interactions with Lion-O in my opinion.
And for Lion-O. Oh Lion-O. He so desperately wants to be liked and loved. It really broke my heart to watch him in this ep. I just wanted to reach out and hug him (luckily he got a big hug from Tygra). Lion-O needs a much more fundamental lesson than “be yourself.” He needs to “know (and accept?) thyself.” This boy needs some more clarity, peace, and serenity before he jumps again headlong into more battles and relationships. He needs to focus on getting to know his own motivations and skills, and the skills of his teammates so that he can have better relationships and run his team better. And, he needs to learn that he can have relationships other than “love interest” with the powerful women around him.
Speaking of the women…There was ugly:
I’m getting a hint of negativity here with the women. Pumyra’s brief interaction with Cheetara a few eps back, and Cheetara’s side comment in this episode. I hope the writers resist the urge to have Cheetara and Pumyra go at each other. But if they do get into conflict, I hope it’s over something important like which strategy would be best to defeat Mumm-ra, rather than something petty.
And, last and least. The drugs. No. just… no. never. Never again. Bad Lion-O, bad kitty.
Even with the frustration, I do appreciate having fun characters and stories that spark my imagination.
…I hope it’s in Jell-O. LOL just kidding

I completely agree about not wanting them to have conflict, but I actually don’t think yet that they have a particular conflict.
I think Pumyra is just, as Cheetara noted, not the friendliest cat. She’s very combative, thus her snapping at Cheetara in “Curse of Ratilla.” I mean, she also snaps at Lion-O a bunch too. And this ep, Cheetara seemed to just be expressing agreement with Tygra that Lion-O was highly likely to get shot down BECAUSE Pumyra is so unfriendly.
I mean, it’s not like Pumyra has been at all warm to any of the other cats, besides odd moments with Lion-O.
I really didn’t get anything snide about her comment. She looked worried when she said it. Considering what happened the last time Lion-O got turned down, I thought she was worried that Pumyra’s more aggressive personality would make turning Lion-O down… harder or just a really difficult situation. I thought she felt like Pumyra might not be as “gentle” about it as she was.

I see a Cat fight coming with Cheetara believing Pumyra is not good enough for Loin-O! I also think Loin-O is the reincarnation of Leo and Pumyra is the reincarnation of Pandora and therefore destined to be together.
That’s kind of the point to their relationship right now though, only Lion-O had gotten to see what she’s like with her guard down (if only for an instant). The other cats don’t know Pumyra and so far Lion-O is the only one we’ve seen to even make an attempt, notice in the scene where Lion-O gets the love potion she’s sitting alone and even looks a little sad and lonely right before he puts it in her cup.
The other cats think she’s unfriendly and leave her alone, but Lion-O knows there’s more there but trying to break through the walls she’s surrounded herself with is a uphill battle. It looks like they may have reached an understanding in this episode and hopefully can start moving forward.
Which might have been the point of the " softer side" line that Lion-O said. Which was said directly after Cheetara said she wasn’t the nicest cat.
Now I want to see an episode building up some sort of sisterhood between Pumyra and Cheetara. F/F relationships always get shafted, or suffocated with silly cliches. Yeah, I know it’s aimed at a male audience but it can be written in a way to appeal to everyone.
We already know that Pumyra does like Lion-O on some level, but from her perspective he was acting really weird in this episode. So far she’s only seen him as a confident, assertive king who will never abandon her and will never allow harm come to her. But here he’s acting like a lovesick kitten, awkwardly shoving flowers in her face, stumbling over his words, and even outright hiding from her. As soon as he back to acting like himself, kicking ass, taking names, and pulling her tail out of the fire she’s all over him again.
One thing that really irritated me about this episode, among many, was the inconsistency in the Pumyra/Lion-O relationship that now has become a pattern. Why is it that in every episode after “The Pit”, the writers have acted like none of the previous interaction between Lion-O and Pumyra exists? It’s like they hit the reset button every time.
She was the one suggesting he “move on to someone else” in COR, right after she beat him into a pulp. Then in BOB, she’s berating him in the tunnels and then they have this sort of mutual coming-together at the end. Now in this episode, she’s back to being unfriendly to him, and all of a sudden Lion-O is the one mooning over her like an idiot. It’s like none of the writers are reading each others’ scripts here.
I also thought there were a ton of negative messages in this one…besides the attempted roofie-ing of Pumyra. There’s Tygra with another nasty remark in the beginning about Lion-O “getting shot down, for the second time” (thanks for being supportive, bro!). There’s Lion-O acting like a lovesick moron, worse than he ever was with Cheetara, and the only way he can impress Pumyra, at the end, is to wave a big sword around and save her from certain death. Stereotypes anyone? I felt like this was such a disservice to both of their characters.
But most of all, it’s the “opportunity cost” that irritates me. This episode slot was an opportunity to do something with the series, to bring it towards an exciting conclusion, or to build the characters up a little more. Instead we get this bizarre pastiche of Pokemon-meets-1985 T’Cats. Now we’ve got three episodes left and I can’t help but feel they are going to be a disappointment, there’s just too much left to cover in that time and inevitably a lot of what could’ve been will be cut out.
