So guys if what i’ve been reading is right, Tygra’s addictive side is stressed on this episode! i am so glad and proud, some time ago before we knew of an upcoming 2011 Tcats show a lot of discussion was around the OS. And i had mentioned and brought to the surface many times(you can go chech my older posts) the importance as far as character development is concerned and greatness of episodes like Turmagat the Tuska, Crystal Canyon and Gardens of Delight where Tygra’s enigmatic character was tested and his ‘evil’ aspect was highlighted! I always believed this ‘dark’ state he often immersed into shouldn’t be taken lightly and hid many great thoughts and scenarios. Very excited that the writers understoon that prospect and personally i feel justified for my obsession with this part:tygra::jaw:

I liked seeing Tygra out of his badass with a soft side for cheetara character. It was goofy but it was cool seeing him out of character like that. The introducing of the Wallows was cool and unexpected. Nice little touch from the OS since the Wallows were seem semi-often on the OS. The OS theme playing had to be the best part of the episode. VERY WELL DONE!!!
But the part with the dinosaur Mumm-Ra thing just slapping Tygra after saying “lets talk about our problems” was hysterical. Was a very “Hulk slamming Loki around” from the avengers movie, move and i liked it.
It was a fun episode. Reminded me very much like an OS episode. Lion-O learned a lesson-be yourself. Some cool and fun stuff went down. I don’t want to call the episode “filler” because I did enjoy it but it seems a very odd episode with so few left in the season
well I wouldn’t call it an “addictive” side. He was accidentally dosed. And it really didn’t have any negative effects on him.
To be honest I’m a little miffed that Pumyra didn’t find out what happened and chew Lion-O out for trying to slip her a love potion. That was a real bad call on Lion-O’s part.
it was strange turning Lion-O’s date rape drug idea into comic relief for the episode. I’m against the whole love story thing currently as i have stated many times so i will am just trying to ignore said parts but one would think that Pumyra would get pretty angry at Lion-O for that. At least the Pumyra we have seen would choke slam Lion-O for trying to drug her with love potion, i would think.
I started watching again when the early episodes started airing in Sweden. I’ve kinda missed fandom (been away from all my fandoms for a while because of work and Things Happening In My Life), and since I’ve enjoyed the new episodes, I think I’ll stick around for a while.
Always nice to see the unfluffy guys/gals let out their fluffy sides. Can’t wait!
I’m with you. This was an alright episode, but it was definitely filler and it could have been better. The goofy moments were fine in the beginning, but then I pretty much got annoyed by the end. As for the development of Lion-O and Pumyra’s relationship, it could have been done better and I’m really bothered that Lion-O’s attempt to use a love potion to get Pumyra to fall for him was treated like comic relief and there was no one to chew him out on that as well Pumyra magically and at the end of the episode. So yeah…this episode pretty much turned me off to shipping Pumryion-O (or whatever the ship is called).
I watched the episode again. I usually feel different about each episode when I re-watch them, but it only made me like it more. I do understand it was somewhat filler, but the comic relief was very much needed and the action scenes were great. The development for Pumyion-O (it’s easier to call it that) I thought was handled well. At the very least it still does not seem rushed. Tygra was my absolute favorite part.
i feel so far the new series has made a few strides but for me to give it a 7 rating or higher it needs to get better action and so fourth like the original or since i dont bother to compare it to the original anymore, be able to have something thats special bout them and so far ive not seen them even though its not as bad as it was when it first started

I am pretty indifferent to this episode. Decent action, a little too goofy for my tastes.
Is it just me or are the silly animation moments really out of place in this series? Things like Pumyra’s face and the ridiculous villager sticking his tongue out with crazy eyes just don’t fit the show in my opinion. Have they done anything like this in a previous episode that I’m just forgetting?
So the Sabretank pretty much does everything the Thundertank did, only it’s bigger. Woo. :rolleyes:
Oh, and Mumm-Ra being defeated by a giant butterfly. That should do wonders for his self esteem.
I thought “Recipe for Disaster” was an apt title for this one, because it pretty much was a disaster from start to finish.
Not what I was hoping for at all. Instead of some real character development and storyline advancement, we get this insipid semi-homage to the OS combined with slapstick comedy. I can’t believe Tab Murphy wrote both the magnificent “Native Son” and this piece of garbage, talk about Jekyll and Hyde.
Lion-O trying to slip Pumyra a Mickey Finn, what’s up with that? So he can’t get a girl to like him without trying to drug her first, that’s just great.
Tygra running all happy around after taking a hit of liquid X, what’s up with that?
No stones, no backstory, just a big T-Rex that Mumm-Ra mysteriously had in his back pocket all this time and hasn’t felt compelled to use until now…what’s up with that?

Seems like people are split on this episode. I really liked it. It was a drastic change from the previous episodes, but still. Not EVERY episode has to have plot movement. Some shows have filler SEASONS, not just episodes. Plus, I viewed Lion-O and Pumyra’s relationship somewhat as plot development. I don’t know. Next week’s episode will probably be more serious, seeing how it’s only a week away from the finale.
Once again my lack of willpower has taken over my good sense:p
I have not seen this episode yet, but we are a few episodes away from the season (maybe series:( ) finale. Now is the time to kick the story into high gear. I was expecting something more serious up until the synopsis was released.
