Some episodes of the “ThunderCats” reboot haven’t been up to par, but Dan Norton, the show’s art director, has been openly defending it.
It still amazes me that the episode “Birth of The Blades” was written by Will Friedle, and that’s one of my fave episodes because of how deep the storyline goes. Can’t wait for next week!
Like someone said, very much a Disney episode. I wouldn’t call it that bad, but then I think of this week’s Legend of Korra episode, it can be so much better. With four more eps to go this season, I’m hoping for some good old action-packed storylines to come, mumm-ra vs the thundercats.
I don’t want to start any arguments, but I found this week’s Korra to be highly predictable and boring. I’m liking the series less and less with each new episode. Back on topic, we are no doubt going to see massive amounts of action and plot development in these last 4 episodes, probably the most we’ve seen all season.
I agree, I think we’ll be racking up the action quotas on the final few!
And Daremonger, Dan Norton is exactly right to defend it! It’s a fantastic series! A great reboot that is a fair tribute to the OS and stands alone as one of the best series around today. I agree that this wasn’t the best episode as my other comment will testify to, like I said it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. But not every episode can be a favoutrite, can it? In ANY series you are going to have epic episodes, great ones, middle of the road ones, fillers and perhaps one or two that are a bit ‘meh’. It’s normal. I don’t see that as a bad thing necessarily, it makes the epic ones stand out even more. I think episodes like this allow the viewers to stop and pause for breath after a run of ‘wow’ episodes, before coming back with a knockout epic episode/arc again. This is what the purpose of this episode was, and in that respect it has worked very well.
That’s exactly what I think. I’ve always loved breather episodes, especially when the side characters get to shine (check out the Teen Tutans episode “Lightspeed”). Speaking of that episode, that episode was only about 5 episodes away from the show’s finale, so that’s almost worse than putting a slight filler like this week’s episode only 4 away from the finale (for those who complained about that).
And it’s not consistent across the ages either. I thought the episode was ok. But my nephew (8-year old) loved it so much, he was trying to make kat’s grappling hooks. 
Haha! Love it! Well that’s the target audience after all, they have to try and please everyone don’t they? I’d keep an ye on your tool shed and make sure your nephew isn’t hacking up your rake and tying a rope to it! lol!!
Let’s hope he doesn’t start getting influenced by Pumyra :eek:
Right. And if we only have to trade off one or two “kiddie” episodes to have the more mature gems we’ve had so far, I’ll gladly take it.
I thought this episode and “Survival of the Fittest” were pretty good, even as a jaded adult.
sigh Saturday seems so far away…I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Couldn’t agree more. The next episode looks like all the cats will be involved. I don’t mind episodes focused on certain characters but I’d really like to see the kittens get more involved in the action. Plus the magic elixir thing seems very interesting.
what can possibly happen. Ok maybe he will start hissing at people and and start yelling on top the jungle gym saying FREE THE CAT SLAVES! Or turn the jungel gym into the pit pretending to fight for his life. Ya what can possibly can go wrong lol!

I’de probably save the Lunataks for season 3 and build a story around that at some point but I’m really hoping for Ben-Gali and Lynx-O this season. Every episode is like watching a Christmas gift on tv. It surprises me everytime.
Well we already saw Lynx-o. I would say that of all listed there your best chance would be to see Bengali in the last 2 or 3.
Which brings me to something else. Considering the way the NS has redefined each character compared the OS counterpart , (Tygra playboy not an architect, Panthro a general not an mechanic, Pumyra as a soldier not a healer, etc.) Everyone is expecting Bengali to be a smith, if he shows up, I would just as well assume he’d be cast with another background and/or persona. (Maybe a technology guy or a pilot, or whatever IDK)
Well this has been discussed in other threads, but I’d say with the exception of Lynxo and Bengali there is almost no chance. They’re going to concentrate on the final arc now, so I doubt we’ll see any guests or new introductions. As I’ve said on other threads …
Ben-Gali - Still a possibility, perhaps as a lone tiger working in a forge in the mountains or as part of a Bengal clan, but we’re more likely to see him in a second season.
Lynx-O - Same as above really, I thought we might find him in the mines with the Thunderians, but it wasn’t to be. Possible he still might turn up, but more likely to be in a second season.
Mongor - Not likely at all. Probably will be a one off bad guy in the 2nd season if at all.
Capt. Shiner - Unless there’s another flashback to Leo and co and he has a cameo in space, not likely.
Capt. Cracker - I don’t think he’ll appear period.
Tuska Warrior - Not likely this season, maybe the next as they discover more animal races.
Mad Bubbler - I don’t think he’ll appear at all. Maybe a long shot as a one off bad guy in a filler episode.
Hachiman - Not likely at all. They haven’t really brought back any of the human characters, unless you count Mumm Ra as one. They missed a perfect opportunity to have him cameo in the duelist and the drifter.
Safari Joe - Not likely either. We all speculated that he might be the ‘thing’ hunting the twins a few episodes back, but we were way off!
Mandora - No. Just no.
