I think it would be cool if they found Eldara, but it turns out to be nothing like what they expected. It’s another one of those coming of age shticks. Accepting things as they are, and not what you want them to be.
Good episode, enjoyed watching it… I kinda like the “meanwhile, back in the dogtown slums…” part of it. Stupid this is, I never even wondered what Kit, Kat & Snarf were up to while watching ‘The Birth of the Blades’.. Now:

Okay, I’m a little late to the game on this one, but here’s my thoughts anyway. I wasn’t overly impressed with this one, it was a filler, nothing more nothing less. All in all it wasn’t a BAD episode, just not a good one either. For me, a filler only works well if it has a few moments where the primary arc is expanded as well, for example explaining the specifics of how a particular plot point works or how the characters get from point a to b to set them up for the next arc episode, but this didn’t really do that. The only redeeming thing I can think of is if it has set up a plot point for later (ie the next series), I mean the cats are going to need funding to rebuild Thundera right? Well now they have it. Plus Kit and Kat could now legitimately be called nobility amongst the Thunderians if wealth is an overiding factor (along with their family of course). Like others, I smiled at the Rankin Bass in joke, and thought it was a bit of comic fluff after the heaviness of previous episodes, but I think it was just a little bit TOO much fluff, if that makes sense? And what the hell IS happening with El Darra as well? They haven’t so much as mentioned it since they joined the cats!! If it isn’t a plot point anymore they should at least mention the fact that they have realised it is just a story or something. Plus I’m not the greatest fan of Tookit and the other characters they introduced either, they were okay, just not worthy of any more screen time than they have already got in my opinion (I think Tookit got more than his fair share).
All in all, bring on the next episode, this one was passable.
I think they did explain that El Dara was a made up fairy tale in a children’s story in the flashback episode of the Wily twins. Remember when their father was reading them the stories from the fairy tale book? I think that was the writer’s way of explaining to us that El Dara is a pipe dream and not real. But who knows, maybe it is and we’ll find out later. Not that the twins need it after getting the forever bag, that thing is, as Kat pointed out, it is better than El Dara itself.
Sorry to say but i really did not like this at all. Yuck,
“the Forever Bag” is an enjoyable story aimed at the younger viewers. It is indeed a filler and a break from all the serious action of the prior three stories (sheesh, you’d need a breather from those!), but it’s clearly better than the prior episode that introduced Tookit (not “Tool Kit”, as I orginally thought). I liked the “Oliver!” elements (Tookit does remind me a little of Fagin, and the five kids make fine Artful Dodgers). The animation was quite good and Tookit was better developed as a character than in his first appearance. All in all, a pleasant episode that gave Kat and Kit another chance to show their stuff. I hope they get more stories that allow them to do that because they deserve it.

I don’t know if the Twins are going to get the pellets and/or lassoes. They could show up later on, but for now it seems the writers are staying away from those things and relying more on the Kittens’ ingenuity.

We probbly won’t see the Kittens telling the adults about their Dog City adventure because the writers will jump straight into the new story. So the twins will likely explain to the other Cats in between episodes and the views will have to fill in the blanks themselves. That’s how it’s done in television.
El Dara, which I’m sure that 'Kit and 'Kat haven’t given up on, serves as a plot device just as much as the Stones of Power.
Forgive me if it’s been said but did anyone else notice that when Tookit said look in the magic bag and say the magic word Rankin/Bass I thought that was quite clever and a nice name drop to the old series.

I’m already accustomed to that magic word. And it was a nod to the classic ThunderCats series.
It was great, not in terms of a Thundercats episode but of a Disnay adventure movie, it reminded me a bit of Aladdin.The enchanting scenery and magic vibe permeated the whole story.
2 things to stress out: 1) Becomes the second ep. that we see no Lion-o whereas in the OS he was the only Thundercat present in the total 130. 2) The moral dilemna towards the end, where the kittens decide to do the right thing was a clear ethical lesson, as in the OS we got plenty of moral messages to be followed by the kids.It was nice to see that coming back;).
Overall, i wouldn’t call it a filler exactly but it is becoming more and more obvious, that when there is serious trouble the kittens wouldn’t run interference for the rest of the team. This is why i prefer more the OS characterization. Also, this is due to the fact they are younger in age. In the OS they had a pivotal role as Tcats members and were scarcely left behind.And when that was about to occur, both kit and Kat expressed their disappointment. On the other hand we see in their 2011 represantation that they mainly aim to carry out their own purposes, don’t mind if they aren’t included in the team.
To be honest the only gripe i have against the writers is this, they have neglected the presence of kittens and snarf, presenting them in a much inferior state
It was ok but I agree with the previous post that I would like to see the kittens being used more like the os ones. The cutesy animals were a bit much too and it just makes the thundercats look weird considering they have human faces with animal characteristics whereas the rest, such as tookit, is basically a talking raccoon. also, is wilykit calling it a flupe? like a flute and a loop or am i hearing things?
Ok this turned out to be my favorite episode off this season 
I just love thierf stories (Sly racoon : band of thieves anyone?) and everything about this had alot of charm . I liked TookIt , and seeing the dog city being brought to life . and the ending was great . this show has such great stand-alone episodes - I couldn’t stop smiling throughout the whole episode .
It was good, but episodes like Native Son and Curse of Ratilla are so much better.
Although native son is another favorite of mine , honestly - I’m just disappointed by the lack of good fight scenes in all of the episodes in this season so far. in “curse of Ratilla” we had like what? 1 (awesome) shot of Lion-O punching Ratar-O and thats about it in this department …

This I absolutely agree on. I mean we are supposed to believe they will become part of the team and Thundercats at some point, right? So where’s all the characterisation leading toward that? In a lot of respects they are no further along than when they decided to tag along at the pilot.
Like I said before, it was by no means bad, but it wasn’t great either. It’s competent. Maybe if the story was mixed in with the previous two episodes to break up some of the darkness and drama it would be fine.
A noticeable trend in this new Thundercats series is that the narrative often switches between either two concurrent stories or a main story with a contributing backstory we see in flashbacks. The point is many episodes actually have two plots, but this one (and a couple of others) follows a single narrative throughout, one that really doesn’t advance the season’s plot in any appreciable way.
These past four episodes work really well viewed in one sitting as a single narrative, and would probably work very well recut into a feature-length movie like “Thundercats-HO!” from the 80’s series, but there would have to be some editing and moving of scenes done to make it truly work.
Pretty fun episode I thought. I was glad that they went back and revisited and wrapped-up this plotline after they had left it dangling in “The Pit.” And once again, it was nice to see the twins get the spotlight again. The eps that have centered on them have really helped to flesh them out as characters. I’m guessing this storyline is running concurrent to the events of “Curse of Ratilla” and “Birth of the Blades.” So I’m guessing that the twins will reunite with the adult cats just after they get back from Mount Plun-Darr.
Tookit was pretty interesting. Like Catspat said, he definitely had a Fagin vibe aout him, whit the way he had the other kids doing his robbing for him. And because he was a raccoon, I couldn’t help but be reminded of two other famous raccoon characters: Rocket Raccoon and Sly Cooper. Although Rocket is a clear-cut hero and Sly, while also a thief himself, is much more ethical and principled compared to Tookit, who is more amoral. And somehow I don’t think we’ve seen the last of him.
The Forever Bag was also kind of interesting. Basically, it was the ultimate Bag of Holding. And when I first saw the inside I thought, “Gee, I wonder if the Ark of the Covenant is in there somewhere?” lol (Also, the name and title “The Forever Bag,” kind of made me want to joke that it wasn’t to be confused with [I]The Forever War[/I], the classic Science Fiction novel by Joe Haldeman)
It’ll be interesting to see how the twins use it in future episodes, if they do. I can see them using it like Felix the Cat used his “Bag of Tricks” to pull out something useful every so often.
Oh, and the use of “rankinbass” as the magic word? Genius!
That’s right up there with us naming the Terrans’ propulsion system “The Overgard Drive!” It’s great when they include little references like that. We also appreciated the subtle Willy Wonka allusion in the candy store scene as well.
Not a bad episode overall. But it’ll be nice to return to the main arc again now that the kittens have had some growth time apart from the rest of the gang.
