"The way I took the cuffs, and the way I think it was intended, was just that the rats are so used to the other slaves. When he found the cuffs unlocked, they didn’t back off, they didn’t fight back, they just calmly let him lock them back up. Just like a slave who’s pretty much had their will broken would do. He probably figured it was another rat that was to blame for not locking them properly. "
I’d be inclined to agree with you EXCEPT prior to that scene we get one of a cat escaping after the cuffs are removed and being killed for said escape. Thus, logic dictates that the discovery of loose cuffs merits a bit more of a reaction then “lemme tighten these up…there we go..get along lil doggie”
“Seemed more to me like a “Lion-O saves the day and Cheetara broke the curse while Tygra just happened to be with her” episode to me. Tygra didn’t really do anything but say he didn’t believe in the curse. Cheetara did all the work. So why are you giving Tygra credit for it?”
Again, I respectfully disagree with your opinion. As I have pointed out before, Lion-O’s side of the story was filled with faults while Tygra’s wasn’t.
Tygra comes up with lame plan to sneak in and it works even after his plan nearly goes up in smoke. Tygra has an easy out when the elevator falls. Tygra emerges without a scratch amidst the falling rubble.
Lion-O is captured after he tries to show mercy - a hallmark of his character. Lion-O barely manages a win over Rattar-O. Lion-O gets rock smashed along with Panthro and Pumyra amidst rubble.
“Cheetara did all the work. So why are you giving Tygra credit for it?”
Maybe because Cheetara shares credit with Tygra in the episode…

I think it has more to do with a presenttation that “love conquors all” even if that love was poorly developed.

Actually, the backstory for the rats was one of the things i liked about this episode. It showed that they weren’t 100% eveil and that extenuating circumstances accounted for much of their misery.

It’s simply another way for the writers to rub innuendo salt in the wounds of the majority who thought Ty/Chee; what the bleep is going on with that and why the bleep would the writers ever do that?
