It was a good episode. Especially since it’s the first to not have Lion-O. The supporting cast really got a chance to shine here. I liked the balance between the depressing backstory and the Kittens amusing dialogue.

I kinda agree. Besides the backstory the rest could’ve been left out and not missed.
And like Tygra’s some questions were still not answered. With Tygra they never said where he got that armor from (and we were told there was a story behind it). And in this one we have NO idea where Kit got her magic flute.
And also…why didn’t they just bring the thing that was trying to kill the bird/deer things back to eat? it wasn’t cute and it was more than enough to feed everyone.
The kittens’ story is sad. Makes you wonder where their mother and siblings are now. Hopefully they were far enough away from Thundera that they didn’t get killed when the lizards attacked.
It look like a shrunk they should have bother that back with the other food they got. This Pit is next.
that ep was horrible after coming off last weeks i must say i did change the channel it was so bad and i wish i never saw it, i give it a flat 0. the new series is really proving nothing special to me whatsoever :lionomad:

If it wasn’t for the backstory this would have been nothing but a genuine filler, especially after the emotionally heavy Native Son. In my opinion this is the weakest of the episodes this week, mainly because the kittens are not necessarily the most important characters of the group.. but it was nice to see the kittens get their time to shine. This most likely means that next week they are going to ramp up the story a bit with The Pit…If they are using anticipation to hype up next weeks episode this is how you do it…its always a filler that headlines for a major plot twisteing event. The addition of a new character is now even more inevitable.. now that every character has had a flahback (Cheetara’s is questionable) and that we now know the group alot better.

Well if you like some of the episodes it really doesn’t come across when you talk about them afterwards. Most I see from your reviews is negativity.
So you’ve liked 1 out of the 18 that have aired? Yeah, the show clearly isn’t for you. 
I’m 100% sure next episode will be better. They can’t possibly mess up bringing in a new character.
There’s one thing I did realize about this episode, however. They really couldn’t have made it any better. It was supposed to be a filler and it did it’s job of telling us why Lion-O and Tygra were looking for the shortcut. I’ve seen much worse filler episodes in other amazing shows. Plus, I didn’t expect much from this episode anyway. It was nice to see the supporting cast shine, but next week is not going to disappoint.

Sure they could. I don’t see Pumyra joining the main cast, so how they handle her not joining the Thundercats could really bring the episode down for me.

This episode is filler, sure, but it’s good filler. It gives the supporting cast some much needed screen time and manages to give us some backstory on the Kittens. It’s also great that the episode is running parallel to “Native Son” showing what the others were doing while Tygra and Lion-O were scouting.
I agree Hammy ..,this is just building up anticipation for next week…while providing completion to all the characters backstories…in other words this episode had to be done…in order to finally move forward…And i think that the next few weeks are going to be insane!
You have to remember that Cheetara had a hard childhood herself and Panthro himself couldn’t have had it easy first as a low-level grunt and later as a wanderer searching for the Book of Omens. That said, they are making assumptions about the twins that aren’t exactly fair, and it seems that no one ever thought to ask the kids about their story, then again, did they ever think to ask for Tygra’s or Cheetara’s?
But they do have a point, the Kids rely too much on their cuteness to get people to do things for them that they probably could do for themselves, case in point: Foraging for food.
You have to realize that the cats have a different culture from us (which is half the fun of fantasy), and in their culture it probably isn’t uncommon to except children around the age of ten or so to look after themselves, they’ve obviously done so before living in the slums, why not the forest too where there’s food everywhere (if you know how to look for it).
Was it just me or when they were in thundera I thought I saw the guy they take the money from in the very first episode and Lion-O and Tygra will save Pumyra from The Pit.
Honestly I thought whining about fending for themselves was a little out of character for two street smart kids who had been fending for themselves for a while before Thundera was attacked.
Sure, but if you look at their activity in the slums they were only stealing to survive. It wasn’t something they wanted or even liked to do. Now that they have people around that can do that stuff for them, they don’t want to do it. Most kids whine about doing simple tasks if they aren’t fun. Seems pretty in character to me.
Pretty much, yeah. They’re too used to being taken care of again and they got a little lazy, they obviously know how to look after themselves, they just didn’t want to do it.
