IMO, the epsiode was good, but thw whole “Tygra has to learn that sleaership is harder than he thinks” was too predictable and far-fetched. He could have done good and still realize the pressure Lion.o has on him.
On another note, I’d have also liked to see Lion-o realizing where does Tygra come from, for a change.
That wasn’t the lesson he had to learn. He had to learn that he’s not any better (or worse) than Lion-O and there’s a difference between offering council and being overly critical.
Yes, but it wouldn’t have hurt him to get his abilities finally recognised.
On another note, Panthro’s trial was poorly written IMO. I know it was a trial of phisical trenght, but strenght of will, but IMO, how it was written, it some wat only reinforced Lion-o’s idea of “I’m king so you have to do as I tell you so”.
There is a time to pull rank and a time to take council. Panthro’s trial is about teaching him when to do which.

On Tygra’s side, he was too hard on himself, and the episode was written as if his military/strategy knowledge was worth nothing because he “failed” (which I don’t think so), and that’s not real neither fair to him. It’s like telling him “see? you were always wrong, I was always right”, and that was not the case. I know Lion.o is the main character and Tygra would have sooner or later realized his ways were correct, but the episode accomplished it poorly IMO. I know I can’t ask that much, but again I think it would have been better if they gave the other characters a chance to show their thoughts and feelins in more than a 2-seconds line.
Would it have been too much to have Tygra saying “you saved us, I screwed it up” and Lion-o replying “no, you did well”.
All I see from now on is Tygra being Lion-o’s new yesman, and I’d hate that. Hope I’m wrong.
Also, this episode felt like one of the OS, where Lion-o wouldn’t be able to do anything without the SoO, only in this case it were teh stones.
And why didn’t Panthro use his arms before?
If anyone’s aware, “Trials of Lion-O” Part 2 was written by 2011 Lion-O’s voice actor, Will Friedle. I believe he did his very best with the episode because he understands his character.

TTOL2 stands as a very decent episode that was cut off at the knees because it was so rushed and at times shifted into a silliness that felt jarring. I had to deduct several points because the bad guys were reduced to levels that belie the build up of the previous two episodes. Monkian digressed into a buffoon with the cartoonish ape grunts, Kaynar’s bit about about eating one of the little ones is becoming a parody, and Mumm-ra ran off with nary a fight. I agree that three episodes instead of two would have fixed many of the episode’s problems, but we have what we have.
On the up side, the role reversal between Lion-O and Tygra did tremendous justice to their relationship. It allowed the brothers to get inside each others skin in a manner that was sobering without degrading either character. Hopefully future episodes will allow us to see the brothers share their appreciation of the other based upon what they have recently experienced.
Oh, and you have to give it to the animators for showing Snarf playing with stick-figure Kit’s hair. How cute!

This episode was great! It had a lot of great lessons, and it gave me a new appreciation of life. 
Will Friedle wrote this episode? Wow, good for him! Maybe he’ll write more, or one of the other voice actors can try their hand at writing an episode of their own.
I loved the episode.^^ I hope that later episodes will reconnect with Lion-o’s sacrifice and what he learned and not just forget it ever happened though.
Still think he got away to easy though. I would not have mind if he had to stay dead adn “train”, almost the same as Goku did in Dragonball (ofc he would train in a whole different way.
the 2 parts wernt bad, the animation overall is decent, i applaud their efforts here. … but these climactic battles and fight choreography are straight up weak and flat- (maybe seeing as things have to be kept very Kid friendly)
i hope these Mumm-Ra battles dont all end up with him getting blasted by the sword and fleeing… ugh…seriously as lion-O does his sword blast Spam, im always thinking of Ryu doing his super art :

I dont know if anyone mentioned this yet, if they did I apologize for my oversight, but I hope Panthro’s arms don’t become the new “deus ex machina” and a plot hole… I mean, they were up in the ducts and they jumped down, but later, Panthro used his super stretchy Mr Fantastic arms to place the bombs on the door. Why not just use the super stretchy arms to reach down and grab the sword?
