@ the bold. I think that is suppose to be what Tygra learns from Lion-O. Compassion for your worst enemy. Tygra sees all the harm the lizards have caused. Tygra cant see past that for the world, and he will need Lion-O to show him how to see the other side. Sure he made the right strategic decision, but he didn’t see the Lizards as beings, just the evil that took his father and destroyed his home.
Or Rodimus Prime.
This episode was pretty good. Lion O being mad is completely logical. We as human beings get mad for way less and kill for way less. Though it’s extremely doubtful he would let Tygra die it wouldn’t be all that surprising if he did.
I also like the change in monkeyman and Jackal. It makes the the villains a little more interesting. I like how they are taking it to the next level.
The panthro scenes was meh. That includes the arms and thundertank. Wondering when we will get to see the cats lair though.
Tygra is like F*** it right now I won that is pretty funny. Cheetara is only sealing her character fate. She will end up characterized as a tease. Lol at her basically telling Lion O it’s her job to stick close to him. That sounds like something a stripper usually say to their customers.
The kittens well who cares about the kittens. Their only purpose is for kids entertainment.
As always ever smart and observant, chique. Tygra wasn’t exactly sympathetic to the lizards but I can’t completely blame him, especially when you think about the destruction of Thundera and the death of one’s father, none of them are sure exactly how many cats made it out in the fall of Thundera and which lizards took part in the killing and it’s entirely possible some of those lizards within that group they saved have done some rather nasty things and those thoughts alone would be enough for some to shrug and say ‘‘who cares’’ to their misfortune. I’m reminded of a dog I adopted years ago that upon first contact bit me and my sister quite badly, I quickly got over it and with patience and compassion turned this dog into a great companion, my sister however STILL years later does not trust him. Letting your guard down is a HUGE risk that may or may not pay off and some people are less willing to risk such a thing than others.
As for Lion-O I really sympathize, its hard to watch someone you deeply care about choose another. I even can’t blame him for being a bit standoffish after, he’s a teenager and often emotions run high at that stage, if sulking didn’t happen that’d be unusual and Tygra and Cheetara are going to have to wait for him to come around and he will eventually, Lion-O has a good heart, its just deeply wounded.
I think Lion-O’s arrogance in declaring himself “winner” of Cheetara’s feelings is a lesson that he shouldn’t soon forget about jumping to conclusions especially when you don’t ask and just assume, and ALSO that Lion-O is so concerned with his own feelings he didn’t bother to find out Cheetara’s. I really wanted Cheetara in that moment that they spoke to tell Lion-O, “if I sent you the wrong message I’m sorry and I wish you would have told me how you felt so perhaps I could have told you how I did too.” Misunderstandings could have been avoided and everybody could have moved on earlier and avoided hurt feelings.
Honestly? I was a bit shocked that Cheetara would give up the fight after Tygra was captured, I was banking on her continuing to fight but I’m sure the threat of Tygra being killed was not something she wanted to risk. She would die for Lion-O that much has always been clear to me but I’m sure she believed an enemy she had no experience with giving a threat of murder may not have been bluffing and with Tygra bound and facing a blade so close to his neck it would have taken an instant. I do believe if Lion-O were the one in the same situation she would have surrendered as well because he is her king.
I was surprised to see Tygra and Cheetara so affectionate with each other they always seemed the type to be more private with their feelings and I loved the kittens reactions to it, hairball indeed… Which makes me wonder of the mention of hairballs if the cats groom themselves, and I’m convinced they do if the kittens even knew anything about hairballs! Makes for a hilarious mental image!
It’s nice to finally watch this episode! 
The psychological elements were interesting, and I wonder what led Kaynar and Addicus to behave as they did in this episode. It is also interesting to see the comments in this thread.
Look, my curiosity was peaked by certain parts of the last two episode mentioned their summaries, and the clips i saw for this episode, coupled with the introduction of the new and approved Jackalman and Monkian, all made me almost look forward to this episode. But then i think about the whole love triangle thing was pointed out frequently and just made me pull back, i was never a big fan of the whole love triangle subplot and i won’t be able to deal with it until we at least get a new love interest for Lion-O (someone who won’t be the symbol of his heartbreak). Not that i don’t like Cheetara, but if it were up to me, i would’ve had any romance between Tygra and Cheetara be just between them and leave Lion-O out of it.
I looked forward to this series when it first showed its promo, but as time went on, as much as i’d like to see more, certain scenes began to leave a bad taste in my mind. I had a hard time adjusting after the first 4 episodes, but after “Old Friends”, i really started to get into it. But then we came to “Sight Beyond Sight” and after once again seeing Lion-O be made the fall guy, i became hesitant to watch more. My problem with the Astral Plane story arc is that once i read its summary and thought about the scenes involving Tygra’s jealousy and the Lion-O/Tygra/Cheetara Love Triangle thing, my mind just started to run wild and ended up making up scenes where Tygra made a fool himself. “Between Brothers” had a similar effect on my, but i just watched that episode and actually liked it, though the ending still bothers me and effects my mind in ways i dislike. Now, after reading what other people thought about this week’s episode, the scenes they mentioned just reek unholy havoc on my imagination. Once again, if it were up me, I would’ve done the episode like this:
Lion-O would still be aching about losing Cheetara, but rather than make a scene about it, he would just quietly mope to himself and/or Snarf about it and only pretend to be okay with it, even though deep down he was broken inside.
Generally-speaking, I want to explore outward. We have a whole darned world to traverse, even when that exploration world speaks to and informs the inner workings of the team (see “Song of the Petalars,” “Duelist & the Drifter,” etc); those are the episodes that excite me the most.
Like anyone else, I can appreciate the tensions and conflict between the various parties. However, the love&betrayal thing is an easy go-to for conflict, and at least for me, gets super tired super fast.
I actually thought the “should we interfere w/ the captured baddies or shouldn’t we?” was an EXCELLENT direction to explore; indeed, I think it will lead to some excellent writing avenues. but %%(&%!!! The thing was again sold short, stabbed in the side by - shock of shocks! - the love triangle. Feels terribly claustrophobic to me.
I was frankly relieved by Lion-O’s initial signs of acceptance of the Tygra/Cheetara thang, taking it as a sign that the lovey-dovey dramatics would be water under the bridge. But darn it, the writers just couldn’t resist. Shame.
I understand its hard when you’re ship doesn’t pan out and you feel really strong about and sometimes you can disconnect. Just to go SLIGHTLY off topic for a moment and I won’t again but just an example:
I was a HUGE Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan and LOVED the Angel/Buffy relationship with the fire of a thousand suns and I continued to watch when Angel left by with much sadness and even outrage when the Buffy/Spike thing started, it was like getting my teeth pulled out by a rusted wrench, painful and horrific, but I continued to watch and it made me focus on other aspects besides the romance and even found some good in the ship I couldnt stand and EVEN began to appreciate the journey. I think my point is hang in there and try to focus on the show as a whole from the action, adventure to the analyzation of everyone’s emotional road, it helps!

Finally a new episode. I love the new sniper Tygra got, wait when did he get it:confused: and why didn’t he use it to simply take down that Kaynar guy or everyone else for that matter?
That was one of the better episodes. The New Monkian looks great but the voice…not so much. Same as Panthro’s new arms look great…but then they do that whole stretch thing?!? One of the worst things i have ever seen!!
Maybe I missed something but I thought the Berbils fixed his arms so they don’t do that anymore, it was just a one-off gag.
Nah what the Berbils fixed was the arms punching Panthro in the face. They can still stretch. He used the stretchy feature to save the others at the end of the episode.
Something I noticed during that scene; Panthro says “By the great sky cat’s claws, make it stop!” So, is the “great sky cat” their deity or something? Is that what the cat signal represents?

Tygrastripes! Exactly how I feel and your Buffy example is spot on. Even though I am not a “Tygra & Cheetara as a couple” fan, I respect there are those who love it. I am willing to wait and see how the change in chemistry(s) affects the team and am interested in how it makes the characters learn and grow. I hope this love-triangle element becomes a background factor and not a focal point so we can further explore the new Third Earth and the different concepts the new show brings.
The “reason” behind the upgraded Thundertank was to make it their headquarters. They were sleeping outside on the grass for crying out loud.
Which by the way him and his father help contribute to. If not for the imprisonment and the mistreatment of the lizards Mum Ra would never have had an army. The cats were easily the more arrogant race. The roles just got reversed.
Who started the conflict will become irrelevant as soon as both races learn to treat one another with some respect and compassion. I’m a biracial kid (mostly black with some native and salvadorian thrown into the mix) and I see a LOT of people with race issues SIMPLY because they can’t let go of the past, not to say I don’t have the occasional jerk bother me but peace and resolution doesn’t come when your heart is full of resentment.
I DOUBT it was just Claudus and Tygra treating the lizards poorly and whos to say whether or not the war would have started without Claudus’ rule, the lizards were oppressed for a LONG time by cats before Claudus and even if the king had been kinder there’s no guarantee the war wouldn’t have started, people can stay angry at a whole species/class/race/sex for CENTURIES because of one/many individuals long ago hurt them and assign blame to someone else just because they belong to that class/species/race/sex, it happens everywhere with black/white conflict, men/women etc. Even taking out the equation a desire for “payback” Mummra could still have said “you don’t want to join me? Fine die or join” THIS happens a lot as well in many countries around the world who don’t want to fight. Misunderstandings and oppression cause a lot of conflict but even forced coercion causes them too.

I love their cute moments but I too hope I don’t see it too often, it becomes overkill after a while in a show like Thundercats. I want to see them care about each other but not become such ninnies about it that we are gonna start calling them Cheetygra ALL the time because we cant figure out where he ends and she begins. I think as soon as people stop being so mad about it they can respect the relationship as a catalyst for change in both the cats whether positive or negative. Already Tygra seems like a different cat, he’s happy and seemed to respond better than before to Lion-O even with his little brother’s bitterness which I believe has much to do with Cheetara, who I can see asking Tygra to do better with Lion-O.
