Does anybody know whether WB is going to do any remastering of the Thundercat DVDs or are they just going to stay content with the current releases? Furthermore does anybody know if they’ll issue replacement discs for Season One Vol. 1. since the first two episodes are a bit messed up?
I actually haven’t bought the sets yet so I wanted to see if there’s any point in waiting or just buy em if nothing’s going to change.
I highly doubt it but maybe when the upcoming movie comes out some new dvds of the old toon will be made with new features for promo purposes. The only complaint I have about the current ones is the box art..looks so generic.
I doubt they would re-release the series remastered so soon after the initial release. Honestly, I doubt they will ever release the series remastered. Our only hope would be that another company would be able to pick up the rights from WB and then do a new DVD release like they have done for other series. Then they could release it remastered, etc..
My advise would be to pick up the current boxed sets off of eBay cheap. Also, I believe they are on sale right now on Amazon.com

The one thing I would say about remastering episodes is that it is, I believe, actually quite an expensive thing to do, and so only worth doing when either a) absolutely necessary, or b) when the financial rewards for a company (in this case WB) outweigh the cost. 
A lot of folks point to BCI Eclipse’s releases of old Filmation shows, notably He-Man & She-Ra, and how those were digitally remastered. However, whilst BCI did a bang-up job with those releases, what some people don’t realise is that the episodes had already been remastered when BCI purchased the series for release - moreover, the remastering job hadn’t even been done by the series’ current copyright holders Entertainment Rights, but by previous copyright holders!
I’d love to see ThunderCats digitally remastered, but to be honest I doubt it would ever be profitable enough for WB to remaster 130 episodes just for the relatively small number of diehard fans who would want it, and (more to the point) be prepared to re-buy all the DVD sets again!

To honest with you, I think Warner Brothers should have remastered ThunderCats from the start. There are so many production glitches in the cartoon that a good digital clean-up would have done wonders for it.
Agree’d. But then again this is the company that somehow “forgot” to add the soundtrack to the 2nd episode.:duh:
You know…I never really even noticed that until I read this. :duh: Does WB know about it?
Yes. They did a thing where you could send in the disc, and they would mail a new one with the corrected audio on it.
