So I’m thinking about jumping in on this line. After all the false starts from other companies I feel like these guys will finally stick with it.
I’m glad I saw this as she is still readily available. Anything else noteworthy that a noob like me should know from the Mattel line that may effect S7’s work?
My worry with the line is for international customers.

$32 customs charges(estimate)
Total $263 which is about £220 for 4 figures to the UK.
Anyone think a UK company will take the line on to sell??
Im in The Netherlands, so I have pretty much have the same costs as you. If the figures are $45 each, I’m gonna cherry-pick and leave it at that. I have no doubt the figures will be terrific, but thats just too much money to spend on a few figures, I’d rather spend it on vintage items.
There’s bound to be UK/EU sellers that will stock these figures, but I doubt it would be cheaper. I dont believe Super7 has any deals with retail stores, like ForbiddenPlanet. And there is ofcourse eBay, where you can get Ultimate ThunderCats figures for a measly €80 each! :roflmao
No company in the UK will take the line on to sell. There are some shops offering pre-orders like Comics and Cocktails but they still want £50 for each figure. So four figures will still work out around £200 so it’s not that much of a saving.
The prices are too expensive for all they are. €80 can buy a Mezco One:12 figure and with those you get a far better quality figure with better articulation, cloth clothing, numerous accessories and a display stand.
Better articulation? Cloth clothing? Numerous accessories?..You definitely must be talking about a different figure than the one I’m thinking of. Now I’m curious. Can you post a pic?

I hadn’t given it serious thought before: do any of the figs have investment value beyond original LJN MOC? I wouldn’t think so beyond the variability of auction listings, right? I don’t collect for investment, so I hadn’t considered this question.
If I had to guess, it will depress those prices since most people just want a fig and won’t care if it’s super-7 vs mattel. And probably would prefer the super-7 fig assuming comparable quality since it comes with more extras. The mattel figs will become more valuable if they become rare, which I can’t see happening anytime soon, or demand ramps up, which I think would take a (serious, non-TR) reboot. But I don’t really know much about the market, disclaimer.
Mattel figures are basically worthless unless somehow Super7 doesn’t redo them. So only the Kittens and Pumyra remain.
I feel bad for you guys overseas. I’m here in the U$A, and I can’t afford these. Technically, I could buy a few, but as a collector of several toy lines, there are better ways for me to spend 45 bucks.

Although I have (re)picked up Lion-O at $45 before shipping and customs any future purchases will need a lot of thought.
Now Lion-O is on his way (again) I guess the only other must have would be Mumm-Ra Ever living.
Im all in for the new Ultimates. Need to sell a set of the originals now.
Yeah I’ve sold off my Lion-O and will be selling Pumyra. I opened the others and won’t be selling them off, yes the extras are nice but I’m not fussed about them
I should have been more clear. I have two sets of originals. I have one full set unopened which I’m keeping. And want to sell the other MIB full set.
I’m not unloading anything Mattel until I have better replacements in hand and verified as such.

Yes I wouldn’t recommend selling the Mattel stuff just yet. The MOTU Ultimates weren’t exactly great upgrades from Mattel’s releases.
As I have said before Super 7’s quality control hasn’t been great and the production pieces haven’t always matched the prototypes.
I took the gamble if the s7 one is naff I’ll probably sell that too. Lol
You will probably get more selling now, so can’t blame you. To each their own.
I wonder how S7 will approach the kittens? Wilykat’s sleeve still bugs the hell out of me so it will be nice to have a correctly painted one.
