I just joined the boards, and I’m still learning a lot about the variations among figures and accessories. I was just reading the section on the site about the catalogs that came with the figures because I wanted to see if there was a catalog with the third series of Thundercats included. Apparently there was, which was good to know, but I noticed that there was no mention of a series one catalog. I have a bunch of these, so I know they were made. It is much thinner than the series two. It just has the basic first assortment of figures, along with the Thundertank, etc. I can scan it if anyone is interested. The site says the 8 backs didn’t come with catalogs. I assumed that’s what these were from since they just feature the first series. Anyone know what’s up?

8 backs did come with catalogs, the article states that “During the first series of figures in 1985, non of the action figures came packed with a catalogue, though later re-issues of the Thundercats toys released in 1985-early 1986 might have come packed with a series 2 catalogue.”
Which basically means that the early releases didnt come with any catalogs but the later series 1 releases did come with catalogs. If the catalogs you have differ from the ones pictured on that page, please shoot me some scans to mannyscollectibles@thundercatslair.org and we’ll make sure to revise the info and add those

Catalog Details
Ok, I dug out my catalogs so I could give a detailed description since I won’t have access to a scanner for a day or two. I have 7 of them (from my original 8 figures that I bought as a kid).
- The catalogs are dated 1985 on the back.
*The cover looks just like the Series 2 one, which is dated 1986.
*The catalog is 8 pages long. It shows the good Thundercats (4, no PVCs, Cheetara is holding a red staff) the Thundertank, Sword of Omens, and Evil Mutants on the front. Back shows Skycutter, Astral Moat Monster and Nose Diver.
I’ll try to scan Monday or Tuesday.
Sounds like they could be a bit different than the series 2, once you get them please forward me scans so i may update the page. Cheetara with a red staff??? Sounds cool
Yeah MannyC is correct and that article should state that later re-issues came with a series 1 catalogue. Apologies as that was my mistake :oops:
I’ve been wanting to update that page for a while, but never managed to track down decent scans of the series 1 catalogue.
Thanks to Wes he has offered an actual catalogue for me to scan since he lives very close to me.Once I get that we’ll update accordingly. Thanks again to Wes
