I agree. I’d like to see it continue farther, but I would like them to at least finish the story arc they had originally planned out for the 52.
I know you’re ****ed at the guy, but to be fair there are signs of the reboot faltering at the moment. So it isn’t just that one guy. 
Same here. I recall them saying they had the story planned out and it would take 52 episodes. As long as they get to tell the story and end it the way they want to I’ll be content.
I asked Larry Kenney about this whole cancellation thing and this is what he said:
“I’m told the episodes that have been produced will be aired, after which a decision will be made about future episodes”
So they’re kinda doing a wait and see thing.

I also asked him about the toys, he’s not sure if the show is depending on it. But from what HE can tell they are selling good.
I love that one of the few quality programs on Cartoon Network is given such a cautious approach, yet they keep churning out those asinine live action shows. :rolleyes:

If I wanted to watch cartoons, all I needed to do was turn to CARTOON NETWORK.
Sounds like as long as the show does reasonably well (which it seems to be) then it should be ok. Also sounds like they want to wait and guage support and response before making another decision after the 52 episode order. That sounds about right. But let’s keep up the support!
Cartoon Network is one of those cable channels that has been slowly drifting away from what it was originally supposed to be, IMO. Sometimes that can sort of be a good thing; AMC used to show old movies, now their emphasis seems to be more on original shows like Mad Men, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead. But that’s more the exception rather than the rule…
MTV used to be about showing music videos. Now it’s thought of as the station that has The Jersey Shore.
Sci-Fi Channel used to have classic Science Fiction TV shows and movies. Then they changed their name to “Syfy.” They’ve since killed any quality shows they had, and now all they air are crappy movies not even good enough for direct-to-video, and what’s left is nothing but Ghost Hunters and wrasslin’.
History Channel used to be, you know, about history. Then it kind of became the World War II channel, which wasn’t so bad. But now it’s been overtaken by shows about UFOs, ancient astronauts and 2012 doomsday prophecies.
I’m sure there are others, but those are the ones I can think off off the top of my head.
If you want to show your support, NOW is the time to do it. Don’t wait until it’s over.
I support Thundercats! It’s is one of the few QUALITY cartoons on these days, it is a rare gem. People can differ about the artistic direction all the want from time to time, but the effort and the quality put forth via the animation, the writer’s , voice actors, etc. It’s all gold. I’m writing a letter and emailing CN and WB to tell them that I think they have a fantastic show on their hands and want to see it continue. It would be a travesty to cut short such an epic cartoon! THUNDERCATS HO! And I also supported the merchandise by going out and getting some figures from Toys’R Us today to do my part to support the show, I already collect the 6" line but I got some other sweet stuff. We can keep it alive guys, support support support!

I hope it stays on the air, Ive waited too long for Thundercats to make a comeback for it to fade away again.
I contacted WB and put forward my thoughts on the New Thundercats as well as the cancelation rumors. It is the least i can do to show my love and passion for a beloved show that i certainly don’t want to see being suddenly stopped without justifiable reasons.
I can’t say what needs to be done by the fans, but i think our voice should be heard. Bickering between us definetely it’s not a solutuion.

I am a huge Thundercats fan coming from Greece who has been wholeheartedly supporting the franchise for many years. Thundercats had always been a tremendous success with many older and younger fans around the world, consistently proving their love and enthusiasm. My excitement went over the top when last year an official announcement was stating Thundercats are back for good with a new show after 25 years. Studio 4c,Bandai and all the production team responsible for Thundercat’s revival sounded very promising guaranteeing a successful comebak.
Thankfully, corroborating my initial predictions,the Thundercats 2011 is a very good show with plenty of new elements added paving the way for a whole new era at an already thriving franchise.
As a concerned fan i’d really like to express my agony over the latest rumors running rampant around the net about Thundercats new show and Toyline alike being abruptly cancelled in the near future.Unfortuntelly, fans are becoming very upset and some of them have started wrtiting off the new cartoon and its products.I believe this negative gossip can only damage the reputation of a legenday show, and the only way to put an end is if an official source publicly makes its position clear.
The truth is there aren’t substantial reasons or official word attesting to this sentiment, the only certain thing is that Thundercats do really well so far in terms of TV ratings and the demand for Bandai’s toyline is much higher than the supply. The franchise has a strong fanbase and by general consensus people love the new Thundercats approach and the related mercandise.
Please take these in consideration and keep in mind that many fans across the globe impatiently waited too long for Thundercats to make a return for it to dissolve again.’

like almost all other cartoon properties on cable, the real “ratings” is directly proportional to the amount of merchandise it sells. if it moves a lot of toys CN says it’s a popular show, gets advertisers to pay money and more episodes follow. otherwise they can’t keep up with production. it’s why things as regrettable as that annoying orange show get picked up - small production costs. that’s why ratings alone are not always enough to ensure success.
i’m not sure if they cover CN to great detail, but one good site to check out re: ratings, cancelations and renewals is http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/ (don’t worry Ian, I’m not a regular there = you can trust it 
) on occasion they do announcements about cable stations, shows, ratings, etc.
First off I would like to say that I am new on this forum, but I have been a huge, huge Thundercat fan since I was a kid in the 80’s, and I feel compelled to reply on this thread.
I would love at the very least for this new series to fulfill its stated two season run, it would be criminal if it didn’t. I would love even more if the support for the show was so strong that it continued beyond that.
I understand that many of us are passionate about our love for Thundercats, and perhaps that is why some of the debates get so heated and some of the speculations get a little zealous, but that is no reason to get so negative about possible rumours that the series is faltering and may get cancelled. Yes there is a worrying lack of promotion, new toylines, etc, but that does not mean it won’t be coming in the future right? Yes there are negative things too, I mean, there are things I dislike about this new series (panthro’s arms?!?!?!?!) but there are many things I love about it too and I am willing to accept the few niggles if the series grows and develops for a long time to come.
Instead of being negative, we should all be positive that the series is back on and is overall so fantastic! We should all show our support of how good it is by watching the series, buying the merchandise, feeding the machine so that it can grow and continue. Write to WB, CN whoever is involved with the making of this, saying how great it is and you want it to continue for many many years to come. If someone starts up a facebook page to support Thundercats and celebrate it (not save it in retrospect), then I would join the dreaded thing just to support it!
So basically, support the new series any way you can, celebrate the fact that it is back on our screens! If there are worrying rumours out there, then combat them with solid support!

Well, just to bring you up to speed RD, Panthro lost his arms during a fight with Grune a few episodes ago. Grune was holding onto them as he was being sucked through the portal that led to the Spirit realm, knowing it was about to close. Panthro, adopting Grune’s axiom of no sacrifice being too great to defeat your enemy, allowed the portal to close, trapping - and presumably killing - Grune, shearing his arms off in the process. The Berbils later gave him the Jax-style arms in the next ep.
I’m really surprised you haven’t seen it yet. Sure, there’s definitely no gay Tygra subtext, but still…
Oh, BTW I really love the avatar pic. I know it’s the same one you use on TR, but I just never had you pegged as being a fan of the Adam West Batman show! Always liked Caesar Romero’s Joker. And somehow, it’s just so appropriate!
I’m thinking now what CN might be doing is what they’re already doing with other shows like The Venture Bros.; renewing it on a season by season basis. We know they’re definitely not dropping that show, and there hasn’t been an official announcement of a new season for over a year, yet we all know it’s coming back, as Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer are still hard at work on it.
Nice job. I should totaly give my support too and try to contact WB even though this rumor seems overated. But it’s better than doing nothing. TO THUNDERCATS! >
