What do you think is the qualification for a Thunderian catoid to become a Thundercat?
Chris here…
I would imagine the “qualification”, such as it is, would be bloodline - note how the ThunderCats are regarded and referred to as “nobles” in certain episodes of the series, and what a big deal Lynx-O, Bengali and Pumyra find it being annointed as ThunderCats at the end of “ThunderCats Ho!” part 5. ![]()

Big rippling muscles (or an hourglass figure for the ladies), an unfledling love of spandex, and a Daddy that knows the right people. Oh, and a really cool weapon that does whatever you want it to do (grow/shrink/shoot things out of it)! ![]()
Chris here…
LOL, I think Celesta’s asking how a regular Thunderian could theoretically attain the mantle of “ThinderCat” in the context of the TCats universe - but, I like your explanation too!

Prove they understand the meaning of Justice, Truth, Honour and Loyalty. All of which Lynx-o, Bengali and Pumyra portrayed in Thundercats Ho.
and isn’t that what Lion-o had to prove during his annointment trials. Basically they have to show that they are capable of carrying the title of Thundercat.
If a Thunderian can live with receiving a red symbol onto his/her attire, and handle the constant cries of help from a cub in a grown Thunderian’s body, then you’re qualified to become a Thundercat.
I would have to agree with Chris on this one. I’ve always seen it as a bloodline thing. ![]()
couldnt have said it better so im glad blackiecats did it
If one is to believe the movie treatment that is posted over at Eye of Thundera.net, it is a purely genetic thing. It states that the Thundercats are in fact a hybrid line descending from human-Thunderian interbreeding that occured millenia ago. It would explain why other Thunderians (non- Thundercats) had completely feline heads, while the Thundercats were more human-like. It also serves to explain hoy the ship’s computer knows Earth’s location and the fact that it is inhabitable for Thunderians (although very advanced sensors could also explain that)
I don’t see how the “movie” treatment explains how some Thunderians “had completely feline heads, while the Thundercats were more human-like.”
From what I gathered watching “The Touch of Amortus,” the ones with “completely feline heads” were ancestors of the modern Thunderians. I can see a possibility of some modern Thunderians having more feline features due to a latent gene, but not because they were born to be only a commoner.
If genes had anything to do with being Thundercats, how is it Lynx-O, Ben-Gali and Pumyra looked more human before their anointment?
probably because they were common looking just like the rest of the rest of the thunderians when they r not tcats
Howdy
Or in short terms being: American
