I was wondering if it was okay to go ahead and do the next podcast episode? I’d like to get the recording done in the next two weeks and have the podcast go up by mid-September or earlier if possible.
I know everyone’s busy (as am I), but I thought I’d bring it up and see if anyone’s available during the weekend.
Not sure what we’d talk about, but I wouldn’t mind discussing the movie again, but this time…getting opinions from the team. Or, we can discuss something else.
I know all the problems I stirred up earlier in the month is still lingering, but I really would like to move forward and keep the podcast updated as much as possible.
By the way, any update on the problems with the RSS feed Kyle? I still can’t download the podcast via iTunes.
Im out of commission this weekend due to some travelling. As far as what happened earlier this month I almost forgot about about it. Next weekend I should be free and would try to be on the podcast even if it is to say a few words
Unfortunately I’m not available at all this weekend with music-related stuff…
The good news is, next weekend (Saturday 6th/Sunday 7th September) I am free on both dates at the present time! Now, the bad news is that one of those dates is 99% certain to be a rehearsal for one of the bands I play in, for two big gigs we have coming up in a few weeks’ time - however, if one of those two dates is preferable for a ThunderCast recording, I could try and push for the other date to be when the rehearsal falls. I can’t make any guarantees, but I can try!
I don’t know if this is any help to you guys, and obviously if there’s a date that works better for everybody else then I’m happy to sit this one out - but, I’d love to take part if it works out for everyone else!
With regards to the Podcast Recording, I should be good… Just fire out a day + time and I will confirm.
The podcast feed issue has all been resolved and made much simpler to avoid any future errors. All I need is to test it which Chris is going to help me out with sometime soon. I am confident it will be ready to launch with this new podcast.
Will keep you posted if the tests work and fire you all a link
Yep, not forgotten about that - will shoot you a text message to confirm, but at a glance, this Thursday sometime is looking promising! Will the test require the use of iTunes, or is it all self-contained around a website?
Topic wise, it should be on various things. Movie, interviews, the S2VL2 UK DVD boxset release.. there’s all sorts we can really do. Since the last podcast was focused on the movie, IMO, we really need to stretch it out for this one.
One thought I had was to use a segment of the podcast to plug the interviews you’ve been snagging for the site, maybe by playing brief 60 - 90 second excerpts from a couple of them. My reason for thinking that is, there may be iTunes users who subscribe to ThunderCast but don’t necessarily check this site out very often - so, by giving them a “taster” of the material you’ve been adding, it may entice them to vist!
This is just a suggestion but why not have this one podcast or one in the near future where we can talk about 80’s cartoons in general. Hell I think a good discussion would be similarities of different 80’s cartoons to ThunderCats. I think we can all find similarities between different 80’s cartoons. Perhaps some of you know different interesting facts that tie in some of the cartoons together such as Larry being a VA for Silverhawks, etc.
I think it would be interesting to hear the different similarities between the cartoons or unique and interesting facts
Yeah I really like MannyR’s (I’m MannyF, just to clear up the confusion) idea. I really want to integrate more of the site into the podcast as well so Chris’ idea of plugging Nick’s interviews is a great way to promote the site.
As for the dates, I was thinking September 6th or the 13th, which are both Saturdays. I might have dinner plans for one or both of those days, so I’d prefer to do the recording as early as possible for me. Best times for me would be around 3PM PST which would be 11PM UK time if I did my calculations correctly. I’m not sure of the time difference in Germany…
Throw out the times you guys are available and see if we can get a good time for everyone.
If I was to pick one, unquestionably I would say Lynne Lipton. Seven words - First Fan Site Interview With Her. Ever. 'Nuff said!!
Cool stuff - I’ve pencilled a potential podcast recording for Saturday 6th September into the diary!
I would warn that if I get called in to do a rehearsal with the band I shall probably have to do it - the two gigs we have coming up at the end of September should generate a combined income of about £450 (I guess about $850), which we’re going to put towards our new 450 watt 16-channel PA system with reflex bass sub-woofer! So, I ought to be there for as many rehearsals as I can - however, we normally rehearse either on a Friday or a Sunday, with just the occasional Saturday factoring in the mix, so cross your fingers I should be about!
Excellent. That works well, actually, I could put the Cheetara theme in the background and put some clips of her talking - also.. we should plug the upcoming confirmed interviews we have (Peter Lawrence being one of them) .
So am I to understand that our podcast is a mixed bag of sorts for this episode - with limited or no updates released since the last episode of the podcast.. we could do a various one this time. MannyC’s idea, interviews, S2V2 UK boxset release, a bit about the movie.. we could really open it up. The toy forum is open as well so let’s get some discussion about that.
Manny, are you going to get a plan of sorts drawn up like last time? That was dead useful.
Bad news guys - I’ve been called into a band rehearsal for Saturday 6th September, which is the only date this week that all five of us can make. I’ve just spoken to one of the others and asked if it could be moved to the Sunday (where I’m doing absolutely nothing) and it’s a no-go - unfortunately because of where the rehearsals are held I won’t be home till at least midnight, probably half-past midnight.
So, obviously I won’t be able to make the ThunderCast recording, which I’m gutted about! Really sorry everybody!
Hope you guys have a great one, and sorry again that I won’t be able to take part!
