i need to know something…i’ve noticed some ppl on some of the fan site type thundera as “thunDERa” w/ the DER in caps. why is this? is this the standard/correct way to type/write it?
it’s not crucial for me to know. i’m just curious.
I do believe in some of the official episode synopsis’, Thundera was spelled ThunDERa. It was really never explained except for the assumption it was to emphasize the pronunciation.
While it’s true a lot of the scripts and other ‘official’ sources type it that way, they also put most of the character names in all-caps, but the average fan doesn’t necessarily do that either.
At best, it’s a preference, and I don’t think one is any more correct than the other. The upside of the ThunDERa method, and the reason I think this particular word had a peculiar way about it in the scripts and such, is it leaves no doubt how to pronounce the word. The capitalization falls on the syllable that’s accented. I’d have to look again, but I don’t think a lot of the books published followed that same line of style, but seemed more of a thing that prevailed in items that would be read by staff, producers, voice actors, etc.
In everyday fan banter and fics, I prefer not to add that emphasis. Fans, I assume, know how it’s pronounced, and it’s kinda a pain to caps three letters in the middle of a word especially, if the term is used often.
But that’s just me. I’m not that much of a perfectionist and/or purist 
“ThunDERa” is how the show’s writers spell it. I prefer “Thundera” because it looks less strange.
They also have “Ben-Gali”, but that looks too much like a human’s name. I choose to spell it “Bengali” because it makes you think more of “Bengal tiger”.
I like spelling it Ben-Gali. Makes it look cooler.
IMO, anyway
