Well that certainly solidifies the theory that Mumm-Ra might just be a Thunderian. Also, it’s great to hear that other villains too will be getting story-arcs.

So they have a big story to tell and they already have the plots of the beginning and the middle. I really hope they will be able to conclude the series!
And it keeps getting more epic with each reveal. I’m intrigued in how all this will play out. Finally an animated show willing to break the mold and portray good storytelling aspects.

It was my understanding that it was ancient ThunderCats (Lion-O’s ancestors) who originally defeated Mumm-Ra in this new series. That sounds like enough reason for Mumm-Ra to want revenge to me.
Who knows. Maybe this series will take place centuries after the first one. That could explain the renewed focus on the original series. But that doesn’t seem to work with how episode 130 ended (no threats and rebuilding life on New ThunDera).
O yes, show us the other mutants. I’m very relieved to hear that they have plotted out the ending, for the time being at least.

Well he talks about interconnecting Mumm-Ra to Thundercats, thus my understanding that he may be a Thunderian. But you have a good point, he could be someone holding an ancient grudge.
Their weapons are also connected too I believe. Though, of course I don’t know how or why. Both the Sword of Omens and the Sword of Plun-darr have similar features as they have dagger forms and sword forms and you can see from the toys that both Mumm-Ra and Lion-O have similar Claw shield gauntlets as well.

I wonder if they kill off Claudus character in the show, and that gives Lion-O a reason to get revenge by finding these stones of power. That would be more interesting IMO.
These Thunder Thursdays keep sneaking up on me. Where do the weeks go?! Doesn’t feel like it should be Thursday yet.
That’s a cool idea. Imagine if it was a forgotton past of the ThunderCats that they were unaware that their ancestors were actually from another world and had visited Third Earth once before, then left. Then something must have happened to their world again that sent them back to Third Earth and somewhere the history was lost. I don’t think that’s the case here, but it would make for an intriguing story.

In the picture for that caption, Lion-O is wearing armor. It had been hypothesized that Panthro made the armor for the ThunderCats but seeing as how he’s already in armor in season 3, I would wager to guess it wasn’t made by Panthro. Either that, or Panthro works fast. 
“Before we even got started we mapped out an entire beginning, middle and end for the ThunderCats story we wanted to tell,” Jelenic revealed. “We sort of broke that down into 13-episode arcs that we tackled one at a time. So we have the first thirteen and the next thirteen all plotted out and that’s about as far as we’ve gotten. And in between that we tell one-off stories that don’t necessarily involve the larger arc but they help develop the characters and fill in the mythology of the world itself. And there are a lot of character plots.”

Dude. Are they saying there’s going to be a total number of episodes that’s under 50? 
Were there any stories from the original series that fans will be able to see on the new show? “The Trials of Lion-O was a big one. We took some of that. We’re doing our version of that. There was a lot of great material there and we pick and chose the best parts and what fits our arc.”
Awesome. I hope they exploit more of Tygra’s mind control abilities.
Or perhaps Lion-O is giving them a few pointers.

Yeah, I found their voices sounding like the Charlie Brown Christmas Special to be exceptionally annoying, not cute and “innocent.”
Of course Panthro works fast. Remember how fast he built the Thundertank in the original?
That being said Lion-O is just wearing shoulder armor. They probably have that already made in Thundera.
Actually thats probably right. Lion-O looks much more sure of himself than the little plant guy.
I assumed that his armor included an armor tank top since when he’s wearing the armor, the armor covering his waist and rear below his belt is the same color as the tank. Maybe I’m wrong and they just died the amor below the belt to match his tank top.
well it might be armor, but it’s not high tech armor like, say, Tygra’s new armor is.
I’ve been trying to figure out Tygra’s armor and why he appears to be more armored up than any of the others. Makes me wonder if he doesn’t become mortally wounded and needs the armor to survive. That might be too Darth Vaderish though.
I think they said in another interview that they were going for 26 episodes for season 1 and that they had a 2nd season in mind for a total of 52 episodes.
So that’s 13 episodes beginning and 13 episodes middle finished = season 1. That means that they haven’t yet finished the 13 episodes of the ending.
As they are aiming for 52 episodes that means that there are 13 episodes that don’t have anything to do with the big story = loose story’s like for example the “safari joe” episode or “the mechanical plague”.
At least that’s what i understand out of it
In my opinion, 52 is a good number of episodes, quality over quantity. How long can one quest go on for?
They also said they have a few ideas for a 3rd season, but it hasn’t been green lit or anything yet.
and yeah 26 is a decent number of episodes. avatar had 20 per season i think
What determines the continuity of a show?
I read a couple of stories about series or cartoons never finishing because the producers call it a day.
Is it about toy sales, dvd sales or the amount of viewers?
I have no clue.

Yeah I guess merchandise would play a decent role, since they’re investing so much into it and if it doesn’t sell well, that would also tell them how popular it really is with the kids. Which is why they need to make some of those sword sequences extra amazing so kids would want to buy it and do the thunder thingy :D.
But they honestly should think about telling a good story rather than selling toys.
I suppose if the show becomes popular that it could cause them to do more episodes or do something else with the franchise. The Last Airbender was popular enough for them to make a movie and now a spin off cartoon. But that show was on Nickelodean and I would think Nickelodean has more viewers than Cartoon Network. Most of the time when I surf by Cartoon Network, nothing is on that catches my eye. It feels like the channel is geared towards adult males and I think it would be a better market if it felt more kid friendly. Just my opinion.
