Nice :D, thanks for posting that Balgus. Not enough of the main theme, I wanted to hear more :P. The score did sound very movie like, but I must admit orchestral scores are rarely “hum-able” unlike electronic music which is almost always catchy. It’s good to hear each character will get its own theme but it seems like he came up with his own music…this makes me nervous for Tygra’s original theme, for I think it was the best of the bunch. It would be a shame not to use the same one, why fix something that isn’t broken?
From what I’ve heard the ONLY music from the old show they’re reusing is the main theme. Not anyone’s personal themes or anything else. I don’t particularly like that. The old music was just so memorable. But at the same time the new music sounds good too. Idk if it’ll get stuck in your head like the old music, but it sounds good.
I’m really digging the new music. It’s starting to create visions in my head of just what the new series Third Earth will be like. Much like the music from the original helped to shape the Thundercats world, the new music will play just as an important role this time around as well.
Being a Jerry Goldsmith fan I was also happy to see that the new composer has him listed as one of his inspirations.
I was really hoping they’d do a new version of Panthro’s theme. Always been my favorite, and when I got the soundtrack it’s been by far the song I’ve listened to the most. But I love that snippit of the new opening track, and I really hope there’s more than just that few seconds when the show airs.
I agree with the previous comments. The sounds/score will, in large part, make or break this series. The original score was just so iconic. With that said - I’m not concerned. 
I’m big on the soundtrack for movies, videogames, and tv series, so this was good to here. It’s good to hear everyone has their own theme and that there is both orchestral as well as midi. One of the highpoints of Avatar was it’s soundtrack for me and I would like to have that same experience with this.
I just realized there’s no mention of an article next week. I was hoping for one more before the show premieres. Maybe with a little more info on the villains or secondary characters.
though I suppose they might just want the last one to be a surprise…if this isn’t the last.

While they might not use the same character songs as in the original series, they’re definitely giving a nod to it by still adding individual scores for the different characters. From what I’ve heard so far, I am definitely not concerned. Plus, it looks like the main theme will still live through the changes - but I’m pretty sure heads would have rolled if they didn’t include it
Right. I guess I missed seeing that the first time I read though it. lol

I read the article and loved the new music sample. It’s awesome that they’re giving this a full orchestral score. It definitely doesn’t sound like lounge music! 
But here’s something the composer said that really grabbed me:
“I take a lot of inspiration in John Williams, James Horner, Jerry Goldsmith and all the big stars of the film music industry,”
Excellent influences, all of them. And those people have scored some of my favorite movies: Williams (too many to list), Horner (Star Trek II, Battle Beyond the Stars, ALIENS) and Goldsmith (Planet of the Apes, ALIEN, Star Trek: The Motion Picture). It’s definitely going to give this show the big, epic feel it deserves.
He talks about some big composers surely but my fave is Basil Poledouris’ conan score. It can’t be more epic than that!
Kevin Kliesch has done the music for some pretty big movies.
Tangled, Ice Age 3, Shrek 4, Kung Fu Panda, Horton Hears a Who, Enchanted, Superman Returns, etc, etc.

It sure is :), and I have no doubt that it will be good but would it be as iconic? Well regardless of the answer I am relieved that everything seems to be pointing towards the new Thundercats being one heck of a show…which airs in less than a week (this day is almost over).
O I wish I could be at SDCC to watch it.
