While moving my collection I decided to clean up my figures as I start to unbox them. Most clean up nicely with disinfecting wipes, however, I am finding some figures have gotten spots on their bodies. These spots make them look like they have a case of chicken pox or something.
Anyone ever have this happen to their figures? And if so, is there anything that can be used on them to clean them up?
I know one figure that will be very happy to get rid of her case of chicken pox. :pumyraveryhappy:
The spots are very typical and i believe they are more along the lines of mold. You may want to try goo gone but im not sure if that will work as the spots seem to be buried in the plastic
Mold? I thought mold only grew in warm moist areas. The box that had those figures were in has been in an unused room of the house for the last 10+ years. No moisture coming in and was usually cold since the heat was turned off in that room.
Should I be concerned that the mold or whatever will spread to other figures?
It’s a common occurance and mainly happens with the final series figures (more than not with Jaga and Pumyra) It is thought that it’s due to the plastics age and it beginning to break down.
Unfortunately there is nothing you can do I’m afraid if that is indeed what it is 
If giving the figures a thorough wipe doesn’t shift it then it’s almost certain it is the plastic breaking down
Bummer. I checked, not only is it Pumyra and Jaga, but Lynx-O, Ben-Gali, and Safari Joe have it.
