I do not have it yet, but your description sounds far from perfect. When it comes to WB and the Thundercats DVDs mediocrity is almost guaranteed.

April 23rd was quite a day for me.

First I stopped off at a comic book store and found a couple of items on my “wanted comics list”. One of them, Superman: And His Incredible Fortress of Solitude, has been the holy grail of my list. I can now throw away that cruddy copy I’ve had since 1982. I stopped by Suncoast and picked up TC S2V1. That done, I got a pizza and a loaf of garlic bread from my favorite pizza joint and watched Thundercats Ho! and Mumm-Ra Lives! I’m already ready for TC S2V2. I was now able to throw away four more of my VCR tapes of episodes recorded off the tube years ago.

I first watched the extras and got a kick out of the Rembrandt’s version of the Thundercats’ theme. The Superman promo enclosed in the extras was pretty awesome as well. I was glad to see they included: George Reeves; Christopher Reeve; the Animated Superman; Dean Cain and Tom Welling. I got the goosebumps watching the Superman Returns promo…just hearing Jor-El’s voice again makes me ready for Superman Returns. I like at least 99% of the episodes in this DVD set, so I’m looking forward to watching them quickly.

I finally purchased Season 2, Vol. 1 and am working my way through the eps, and just had to comment.

It is really fun as an adult to watch these over and over again. And they are very well done. I am watching these “old episodes”, and see overtones of current animation ideas, effects and episodes. The voice acting as well is class A, something else I never really paid attention to as a kid. I always liked the justice truth honor loyalty creed of the cats and respected that even as a kid, but as an adult, I see now that the show REALLY had some great loyalty and friendship messages as well.

The Thundercats really hold up well. Classic show with a lot of class. And I dont want to incite a riot or anything lol, but compared to GI Joe, Transformers, He-Man, I feel personally that Thundercats is just a better retro show with regard to surviving in current times.

Now is there a Season Two Vol. Two scheduled? I noticed that “Return of the Thundercubs” isn’t included on this current volume. I know I am a little fuzzy on the episode order, but I swear there are more episodes to be DVD’d.

Thanks all!

Howdy

Season 2 Volume 2 from what I have heard is being released in December 06 so this will conclude that last 30 or is it 31 episodes to still be released.
