Why is it so silent here all the time? The leading ThunderCats forum and hardly anybody posts, really strange considering TCats is one of..if not the greatest cartoon ever. Sigh.
well that is up to the staff to get the posts going here to spice things up of interest to get things going, thats just my opinion. hopefully its done soon cause i love talking bout the toon
A lot of tcats boards get this way. Just about every one I can think of since I’ve been around has hit a lull or two. I think maybe we get talked out? We get busy, too.
As for staff keeping things going, I’m of mixed opinion on that. I have seen that approach work well - at EOT, for example, which could work here too because there is more than one person running this site as well. Odds are any one of their team at any given time might have time to pursue that approach.
But also as someone that runs her own board and site, a lot of times after everything else, I just don’t have time to spoon feed topics to people. I pay for the web space and put up a forum/maintain it if people wanna talk - I figure that’s more than enough effort on a webmaster’s part. If they don’t talk, that’s fine too. At least it’s there if the mood strikes anybody.
Maybe when something new happens for tcats, it’ll pick up. The show is ancient, and even the newer stuff like the comics feels talked out to me, anyway. I admit, I’m a little burnt out!
I absolutely agree that this forum is currently a bit quiet than usual - probably down to people having to deal with issues in their daily lives and so-forth. That being said, we’re currently working on delivering some new content to the website which should spice things up forum wise. It’s also down to not very much going on in the ThunderCats world - movie wise, anyway. I’m sure that as soon as things start picking up, this forum will be buzzing full of dicussion.

I’ve got to be honest and say, I don’t consider that this forum is “dead” - when I log on here there’s generally a couple of new posts per day at the very least, which is more than some message boards devoted to 1980s cartoon properties are able to generate.
I also don’t agree with the statement that it’s up to the staff (I guess meaning us ThunderCats Lair team members) to “spice things up to get discussion going”. On these forums there are literally dozens of threads about a wealth of different ThunderCats-related topics - episodes, comic series, toys, merchandise, you name it. Yep, those of us on the team could re-post those same threads ourselves, but at the end of the day there’s nothing stopping anyone from going into a thread and continuing a discussion! 
Unfortunately, as others have observed, there’s been nothing new on the ThunderCats front since DC/Wildstorm published their last TCats comic a few years back - I think the next time you’ll see large volumes of active fan discussion will be when info about the new movie starts leaking out and being released.
Not that I begrudge them this for one micro-second, but it doesn’t help other 1980s cartoon forums that www.he-man.org 's forums are so much the mecca for all 1980s cartoon discussion that in a lot of cases there’s not a lot of need for a ThunderCats forum like this for any but the most hardcore of TCats fans - if someone posts up a ThunderCats-related topic over there, it will often generate far more posts than the same topic would over here! 
But, I’m not grumbling, that’s simply testament to the huge and friendly community they’ve built up over there over the course of almost a decade. shrugs

I’ve started many threads on the forums which never get any replies. I don’t think the staff should be 100% responsible for the activity of the forums. A forum is only as strong as the community. I believe that once movie news starts to trickle out, we’ll have many more active discussions.

I too have noticed the slow down. Funny thing though is you do see a number of new user registrations per week. So people are definitely visiting, registering, just not starting new threads.
I think one of the reasons they don’t post is that so much Thundercats information is already covered on both these forums, and the main TCL page, that many of these new users are likely registering for the sole purpose of using the search feature.
I myself would love for these forums to be “buzzing” with more activity. Maybe we could think of ways to attract more Thundercats fans this way. Either way, as already said, once more movie info rolls out, I am sure things will pick up.

all im saying is that if a site is having problems its usually up to the staff to get something goin is all but i will say that i would like to hefan put up more ep talkback threads that really did well in the past and id love to see it once again thats for sure:)
