I don’t think anyone really cares, but on their new album Life Cycles, they are going to have a song called “Astral Plane”. Think it’s just a coincidence or what?
I’ve never heard of that band, but until I hear that song, I have to wonder if maybe it could be a coincidence. Quite a few artists, mostly rappers, have made reference to Thundercats a few times in their lyrics, though.
I’ve sometimes wonder the opposite, though, and wondered if the writers of Thundercats might have been inspired by certain bands when writing their episodes? The ones that Will Friedle wrote, like “Legacy” and “Birth of The Blades,” have a very cosmic feel to them that reminds me of the stuff in Coheed & Cambria songs. Also I wonder if Dan Norton ad crew are fans of bands like Dio and Iron Maiden, as there seems to be some subtle influences from them in this new show as well.
