sadly, another drop in the ratings. I figured it would have gone back up this week since Panthro joined the show. Too bad, because this last episode was excellent.
Tied with a new episode of Phineas and Ferb with viewers 18-49. Could do worse.
I dont like this really, just get’s lower and lower.
Keep in mind though those initial ratings don’t include DVR recordings and things like that.
Also, considering that the other shows in the same timeslot that did the same or lower (Phineas & Ferb, Jersey Shore, Say Yes to the Dress, Whale Wars, iCarly, etc.) have been around for the last few years and show no signs of going away anytime soon, I’d say Thundercats is pretty safe and doing respectably well.
It’s holding steady.
I suspect a lot of people were more worried about Irene than the Book of Omens:
Allow me to put things in perspective for some people. T-cats isn’t doing that bad.

I would only worry if it keeps on dropping each episode. Right now it’s within the range I think keeps it safe. If it drops down to around 1 million or below, then you should worry but from what I’ve seen in the links. It’s still up there pretty high.
That is a good point. Because of Irene there were a lot of power outages on the east coast this weekend. Luckily mine only went off for about an hour Friday afternoon. And it looks like from that link the Weather channel stole a lot of viewers for that timeslot (and a lot of other timeslots). It’s still only really getting beaten by WWE. Thundercats can do a lot worse than consistently being second in it’s time slot every week.
Do they even show the re-runs? I just ran through the whole week on CN, and it doesnt come back on. ..I know its been said before, but I think it would help a lot if CN would actually replay it. I see the same 4-5 shows with my kids all day long, but no re-runs of the Thundercats.
And yeah, I didnt think about the hurricane. ..I was more worried about the book of Omens! lol ..I wonder how the toy sales are going? my son loves his sword.. Claw shield, not so much.
IMHO, I think what we are seeing is the exodus of older fans who do not like the direction the show is taking. They might wait for DVDs and see it all at once.
The weekly factor is also an issue. It is hard to keep interest up for a half hour show over the course of 26 weeks unless the show is really good, or the fan base truly devoted. If the show has lost a large part of the older fan base, it will be an uphill battle for ratings.

Well as one former 1985s fan they have me locked in for the duration, for better or for worse. By Thursday I’m practically rabid about Fridays episode.
This show still has the International broadcast to come so it could do really well in those markets as well which would help with the longevity
I’d save these kind of proclamations for a week when the ratings drop doesn’t coincide with a huge ratings bump for the Weather Channel of all things.
Irene and the power outages on the East coast most likely did play a part in the ratings drop. Only time will tell if the viewership will pickup. I wonder if we will see spikes like the first two episodes!
Yeah, I was going to point that out that they lost a good chunk of a HUGE market.
1.6 million viewers for Legacy.
That’s good. Has the viewership ever drop below 1.5 million yet? If it hasn’t then this is hinting that the show will have a more stable viewership which can lead to there being another season for sure.
It was at 1.5 for one week, but hasn’t went below that.
I really don’t understand ratings so is 1.6 a positive indication?
