I’m sure what matters to WB is the advertising revenue. Don’t they get the full ratings and base advertising rates on them, or at least use them to show to advertisers? So a show getting some extra adults more than average should surely count for something when ot comes to selling adverts?
Either way, it looks like the ratings are quite good, but it’s bizarre why they don’t repeat the show more in either the UK and US
I’ve been watching Thundercats since it debuted and I have not once seen a toy commercial for the toyline. You would think they’d air them during one of the show’s commercial breaks just so the viewers know there are toys. But I have never seen a commercial on TV anywhere. Do they even exist?
From what i had been reading and learning back in the 80s the market (TV, Comics, ads , commercials e.t.c) was inundated with Thundercats and the promotion was going on very well. It’s 2012 now but i don’t know why this is not happening, it’s no good for a new show though
They’re left to find out on their own. Several shows on CN are treated the same as ThunderCats, just maybe not quite to this extent. However, I still wouldn’t worry because as said before, you pretty much only see Lego conmercials these days.
To go along with the toy thing, they are still full price at my local stores and many had just recently sold out (I asked employees). So looks like my town supports the show really well.
Once again, this is only for the 6-11 age group. Considering it was more of a mature episode, the older viewers probably made up most of the views. Plus, the ratings were down for everything this weekend in cartoons.
Consumer update: local Target has sold out and restocked again on both OS and NS toys. About 12 packages in total. I know they restocked, because there were notches on the packages last time I was there and the new stuff doesn’t have the notches. FWIW, this is the 3rd time I have witnessed a re-stock within the past 2 months.
