[LEFT]Although it’s not one of my all-time favourites, I still find this a very enjoyable episode - plus, it features the debut of the character I consider to be the most significant in the whole ThunderCats universe, namely the fantastic Wollo’s Donkey! :)[/LEFT]

Hee-hee, it might not be one of your all-time favorites, Chris, but it certainly is mine! This is one of Leonard Starr’s best efforts. He’s my favorite writer of “ThunderCats”, with Peter Lawrence running a close second. Lion-O and WilyKit tackling all the obstacles in Baron Karnor’s tower to rescue the caged WilyKat is great fun, as is the other ThunderCats coming to their rescue when the gargoyles have the trio cornered on top of the tower. And for us ladies, there’s the pleasure of seeing Lion-O in his swimtrunks near the beginning of the story. But the real joy is watching Lion-O use the Sword of Omens to pole-vault over that freaky staircase, with WilyKit hanging onto his back for dear life, and, for me, that one scene makes the whole episode.
well actually i think this is an incredibly underrated episode, its got plenty of action good storyline to a villain from third earths past. You get to see wilykit and liono work well together and it also shows how close she is to him as we will see later on as the series continues. the best action comes at the end though when they reach the top and call the others to take care of the gargoyles. its the first really good ep in my opinion without mummra or the warriar maidans i have to give it an 8
This episode has a somewhat special place for me, not so much because it’s a great thundercats episode (not saying it’s not good, it’s just not the best), but because it’s an episode that shows how Dungeons and Dragons should really be (not the tv show, but actual Dungeons and Dragons role-playing).
To elaborate on that point slightly, it has a typical damsel in distress (well, someone held hostage), an evil sorceror in his tower (with a slightly twist that he’s already dead) and his tower is full of all the great traditional traps. Ahhh, it takes me back to my more classical role-playing days.
I particularly enjoyed this episode. I’ve always liked the episodic elements in this episode, and enjoyed the whole Treasure and booby-traps thing they had going… I thought they came up with some interesting ideas on this episode, and is one of the best stand-alone episodes for the series.
