Hey everyone… I keep stumbling upon variations that I havent heard of before…3 Thundertank variations and now a variation on the wings of a Stinger. I just got the one pictured and noticed the wings are not transluscent like the other ones Ive seen. Anyone ever seen the same thing. I know this figure is carded and never been removed from the package so it seems to me that it could be a variation of Stinger wings. Maybe the European version had clear wings and the american version transluscent wings? Who knows.Any info from anybody would be appreciated and if anyone has stumbled upon the same thing post it here. Here’s the picture…you be the judge 
The Stinger you pictured is exactly the same as my Stinger MOC. I have seen Stinger on an American card and he has the same wings that our Euro cards do. I guess it’s possible there could be a variation, but personally I very much doubt it. I just wonder if some of the loose pics of Stinger we have seen, have a pair of custom wings attached?

I have also noticed a difference in the stinger wings. Some seem to be clear while others look like they have a pearlised shimmer to them.

So yours came from a UK card?..Because mine has clear wings and it is on a Dutch/French card.
well most likely, i’m based in uk. and got most of the toys at local toyshop. although we did have a shop along the road that sold eternia’s from france back in the day- wish parents bought me one like my brother - they were only about ?10. So may well have been a french card?
I have the Stinger on dutch/french card with clear wings. I looked through all the MOC pictures I have of Stinger, both US and Euro releases, and all the US have the pearlish shimmer wings and all the euro have clear wings like mine. Not saying that that’s the way it is since someone here said to have seen the clear wings on US card, but just letting you know what I have.
I am sorry this is not related to the stinger variations, but I didn’t want to create a thread for one question alone.. Was stinger ever in an episode? I don’t remember him..
I think that many of the toys made were not essential characers, and many that are essential characters were not made. In particular Mongor, it doesn’t scream out as a must for character or toy potential reasons..
Stinger was never seen in any of the episodes, he was seen in a comic issue I think. Kind of odd because like you stated there were characters that shouldve definitely been toys but Stinger is the only one that was never in an episode…weird if you ask me
Thanks for clearing that up, I am a little skecthy on the later episodes, I was just checking they had not slipped him in without me noticing. Saying all that he does make a really cool toy.
I’ve looked in to the wings again and I would say that the shimmering wings were released on US cards and the clear wings on euro (dutch/french) cards. All the pictures I have of the carded Stinger point to that. Of course, there could be exceptions but I haven’t seen any.
PS. I know the euro card is a 25 back. Is the US card a 25 back too?

Well, I know 2 of them, one of my Brazilian Thundertanks has red doors while the other has them gray… What is the third?
Question is slight off topic but it is basically the same thank with minor cosmetic variations. Our variations page is in the works and you will se what we are talking about. Its kinda hard to explain without pics.The 3 variations I was taling about is LJN variations

Here are picks of my Stinger with the holographic like wings. I was lucky enough to get him mint and complete with all wings back in the day. The wings give off a Green/Pink shimmer, depending on the angle that you look at it from. 1st two shots are so you can see the green and then the pink. Third shot is a macro shot that really shows off the detail. He is in a protective microfiber baggie so that is why you see some glare.
