The Official Toy Sightings Thread!

I’m guessing you’re not referring to Aurora Co?!

Nothing at TRU in Beaumont, Texas… all though they had a BUNCH of toys on clearance, maybe they are freeing up some sections for Tcats.

There are none available in Baghdad, Iraq yet…

For native collectors or US personnel? Does it reach there?

We got over an entire pallet worth of new toy freight yesterday at my store and not one bit Thundercat related…

I’m starting to worry, since our store is so small, that we’ll get anything at all…

I have personally gone to every single Walmart, TRU, Target, K-Mart within a 30 mile radius of my house and nothing. K-Mart online says their in stock. Go to the store they can’t find it or I get the classic response “What’s a Thundercat”.

My money is on K-Mart getting them first but so far nothing in NJ

Now that’s what I call a hard core fan! Especially in this heat wave and gas prices lol, I wouldn’t be shopping for anything until I phone each store knowing they had ThunderCats.

K-mart in Walnutport PA had the six inch, four inch, thundertank, and sword of omens, no classics sadly.

From what I’ve seen so far, K-Mart is the only retailer carrying the new ThunderCats line. I believe there’s a Toys R Us north of me carrying the new line, but that’s all I know for now.

So I ordered the entire series on TRU.com on friday. They processed my order saturday, all items saying they were found in stock. Now today I get an email saying the 4" Tygra is out of stock. I was surprised it was him over Cheetara, but now I have to go hunt for him in stores. A little mad since I seen them all on Sunday and could have picked him up then had I known.

Thus far, Coldwin and I have managed to get our hands on at least one of everything aside from the Tower of Omens playset. Luckily we were traveling the past week; it seems Michigan is a good state to be in if you want the Thundercats toys. We found them at a couple of Toys R Us stores there, and one K-Mart.

Here in WV, the pickings are slimmer. The Toys R Us that’s closest to us doesn’t have them as of yesterday, and we haven’t seen any in K-Mart or Wal-Mart, either.

Went to the middle of nowhere today in a Walmart nontheless and found everything. They were just putting them out.

The only thing they didn’t have were the 4" deluxe, the small sword of omen and the claw. I’m a happy camper!
Only took 12 stores to find it. Keep searching your Walmarts they are coming in and the guy said they are getting a ton of them!!!

Mike

Congrats! I guess I’m headed out to local walmarts this afternoon.

Edit: still nothing in Colorado.

Picked up all seven 4" toys and the three 6"s earlier tonight at my local kmart here in Milford, CT. No deluxe 4", Thundertank, or sword or omens… sold out. I picked up two roleplay swords and a classic lion-o (not the exclusive) over the weekend at a tru further away from my local one. All they had was the swords, the claw shield, and the giant classic lion-o (mezco?) . I just want the classics, the exclusive lion-o and the deluxe 4"s to complete my collection.

So… is the plan that brick and mortar TRU’s should still be getting the SDCC exclusive Lion-O? The droopy sword of the regular one has finally gotten to me. You can’t pose him in action poses because the sword starts to look like a wet noodle over time.

After going to so many stores the past week i’ve come to realize that it’s like a science. Certain stores will get them other’s that are 2 miles away don’t. Certain districts will all have them in their stores, but other’s won’t.

Walking into walmart and seeing them was a complete fluke. I went in there for a GPS for my upcoming vacation and randomly stumbled upon them. Like everything, more than any of the other stores even had. it was like walmart saved it all up and put it all out together, which makes me think an dwonder if thats what all the walmarts are doing waiting for everything. Still have yet to see them at TRU or Target only K-Mart and Walmart.

being a former manager in retail, I can say that big chain stores have set policies and procedures, but that doesn’t mean that ALL the stores follow them to the letter.

a lot of times we would get merchandise that specifically said “hold until such and such date” other times we would “cut-in” new merchandise if we had room or we had some stuff on clearance and could move stuff around if it didn’t interfere with the plan-o-gram. Other times we would have to wait for a plan-o-gram reset to put out new merchandise.

Say some toy company is getting the merchandise before others, they may be putting it out sooner than others, but company wide they are having a action figure aisle reset next week and that is when they are going to put out the merchandise in the right locations with signage and maybe an endcap featuring the TCats and maybe a stackout display to set in one of the main drive aisles.

Thats how we did things, but I can’t speak for all other stores in the world

Atleast with TRU, the company has already released the layout changes for action figures. Which all stores are in the process of doing/have done. The ThunderCats toys are part of those changes. So they’re not affected by any “do not put on shelf till X”.

Yes You Are Right. I Purchase My Figures In Kmart And The Sword of Omens. But Unfortunately They Dont Have The Claw:(

So I get my figures from TRU.com and most were fine except for my Clasics Lion-O. His nose was somehow scraped so that the red paint underneath was showing. It looked like he had a clown nose on. Unacceptable! I called my local TRU in Vernon Hills, IL, and they said they had the figures on the shelves. I didn’t specify that I was looking for the Classics line as they confuse easily. I get there and they don’t have the Classics or the 6”, but pretty much everything else. I exchanged my Lion-O for the Deluxe Sword of Omens.

I don’t think I’ll be collecting the rest of the line as these toys are WAY overpriced with the exception being the Classics line. I remember looking at my total order and thinking, “All this cost 80 bucks? I got four figures!”
