Okay, so I’ve watched the trailer a number of times now, and here is my “way too long, did he actually spend that much time breaking it down?” comments on it:
First scene: Mumm-ra etched on stone.
Not much to say, other than it looks good, ‘egyptianish.’
Second scene: Plundarians pulling something
Interesting to see them. Is this the first we’ve seen of any of the bad guys? Small and scrany looking, but these appear to be slaves due to the chains and such, not the “head” bad guys, who’ll likely be much stronger and more capable.
Third scene: Cut to someone with long bangs and red eyes.
Don’t know what to say. Don’t know who it is, or what role he or she plays.
Fourth Scene: Royal Chambers?/Presenting of the sword.
Some “priests” wearing ‘lion’ costumes and bearing the Sword approach a dias with Claudius, Liono, Tygra, and ?Jaga? standing on it. Jaga looks very old and thin here. Claudius much the opposite. Interesting that Tygra is here but not any of the other main characters. I believe I read somewhere that one of the voice actors “leaked” that Tygra and Liono are going to be brothers in this version… perhaps Tygra is adopted? That might explain why he is here, but the others are not. Also, the priests garments are the first hint of a perhaps very ‘lion’ dominated culture. I’ll point out a number of other areas as we move on where lions seem to be a much more in focus vs. other cat species.
Fifth Scene: quick cut of the ?sword of omens? reflecting ?Mumm-ra’s? face
Not much to comment on here.
Sixth scene: Lion-o running is a ?palace?
To be nitpicky here, I’m not fond of the animation here. I don’t see most people holding their arms up like that while running.
Seventh scene: Quick shot of Cladius’ face
Looks good… not much more to say.
Eigth scene: Lion-o taking sword.
The Sword is seen, hilt up, sparkling with electricity. Cut to Lion-o displaying lots of tension in his face. I think this is kinda silly animation here. The delayed look at a characters face as various features, like checks and eyebrows quiver to indicate supreme mental effort being displayed. Finally Lion-o grasps the sword raises it up while they camera does a 360 around him. You can really see in this shot the “furry-ness” of Lion-o. I like that, these are cats after all.
Ninth scene: Thundarians cheering a group on stage in front of a decidedly “Cat’s Lair” looking structure.
The cheering crowd appears to be cheering Grune, as he’s the front character on stage and the only one who “bows” in acknowledgement of the applause. A few other interesting things: Again, Tygra is present, but not Wily’s, Cheetara or Panthro; further seeming to put forth the idea that Tygra is an (adopted?) son. ?Jaga? and Grune both are wearing the same helmet. Grune only has one tooth… I’m a little sketchy on my Grune lore, but in the original, didn’t he lose the tooth after he went rogue? Tygra can be clearly seen here, as well as in his previous appearance NOT wear his army green costume.
Tenth and Eleventh scenes: To misc. palace/arena scenes.
Just some generic footage, except both scenes show more of that Lion-centric culture. In the first we see two Lions on top of pillars in front of the area being shows. In the second we see what appears to be a “royal” seating area at an roman style arena. The front of the seating area has a large lion head carved on it.
Twelfth scene: Lion engages sight beyond sight.
Just a quick clip of Lion using the sword for s-b-s and the eye coming to life in the sword. Decent animation here.
Thirteenth scene: Cat fight
Two cats engaged in a fight. One is scrambling up a large tree-ish/vine-ish thing while the other swings in on a rope and kicks the first off. It’s hard to say given the quality of the video, but the one being kicked might be Tygra. The other is a cat who appear to have a mohawk. The kicker might be lion based, and just have a mostly shaved head, or it might be cougar based.
Fourteenth scene: Plundarians pulling something huge.
Appears to be the same scene of the Plundarian slaves pulling soming huge, almost alien egg looking. All the slaves appear to be reptiles. Standing atop the “egg” is a figure, who we zoom in on to see is Grune.
Fifteenth scene: Palace and calvary.
A very large palace or castle door is opened and three or more figures astride mounts and riding out. As we zoom in we can see two of the figures are Claudius and Tygra. The mounts appear to be equal parts horse, cat, and lizard. They are mostly grey, with a lighter underbelly. Furred, and with a spikey hair type mane (The spikes do “wave” in the wind as the mounts run). The mounts do NOT have a briddle or any sort seeming to imply perhaps some level of intelligence or possibly some level of telepathic communication between rider and beast. Again, Tygra is NOT wearing the army green costume.
Sixteenth scene: Arena
We’re back in the roman style arena seen in scene 11. At the center appears to be a large viney/treey thing, probably the same thing seen in scene 13. We zoom in on the center thingy and see Liono vaulting up the thick vine to the applause and cheering of the audience. He gets to the top and appear to lunge at Tygra. There is an explosion of light and then we see (probably) Liono falling a long ways back down the the tree/vine thingy.
Seventeenth scene: The Wilies!
A very young (5-8 years old?) Kit and Kat are running.
Eighteenth scene: Cheetara
Appears to prepare for a fight. Not much else to say.
Nineteenth scene: Generic Thunderain
Thunderain apparently charging at an enemy with a drawn sword. Appears to be a military member and appears to be lion based. This might be a random thing or it might be further evidence of a Lion-centric society.
Twentieth scene: Tygra
Two quick cuts of Tygra, again clearly NOT in the green costume. Swings the whip a couple of times. No sign of a gun of any sorts. I like this Tygra better than the still pictures we’ve seen of him.
21st scene: Snarf
Very quick shot of snarf diving behind ?Claudius’? legs.
22nd scene: Jaga and Lion
We see Jaga on a balcony of sorts approaching Liono and laying a hand on his shoulder. He appears to be imparting some of his famous wisdom on the young lord.
23rd scene: Mob
A mod of generic Thunderians who appear to be ready to storm Castle Frankenstein, or maybe repel some Plundariens. The costumes seem to be pretty consistent with Middle Ages European peasants. They are armed with torches and various hand tools one might find on a farm. What’s interesting here is that while these are “generic” cats, they do seem to display some specific specific traits that show through, though not to the same extent as the Thundercats. There is some species markers, but not overpoweringly so. Some have tiger like stripes, some appear to be lion-ish and at least two seem to be vaguely panthro-like.
Not to get too far off the track here, but this seems to support an idea that mcss aerocoupe brought up in a thread I started months ago about interspecies breeding. MA said here:
For the sake of argument, let’s say being a ThunderCat was a birthright. That would mean ThunderCats were like the royal families of real history. Therefore, it could have been taboo to marry outside of your own clan/species on Old ThunDera if you were a ThunderCat. But those rules would not apply to non-ThunderCat ThunDerians.
24th scene: Cheetara joins the party
Cheetara is leaping over a wall and then stands in front of Tygra and Lion, raising her staff as if to defend them. Both boys appear a little surprised to see her. As she’s leaping the wall we see a cats head carving that is either female or not lion based as it has no mane.
25th scene: Palace training
We see what appears to be Claudius and Liono fighting in a large room in a ?palace?. It appears to be a training session. Claudius is wielding the Sword or Omens, Lion-o a regular sword.
26th scene: ambush?
An apparently short and stout Thunderian is attacking someone with a small knife. The “someone,” who appears to be Lion-o in a cloak, wheel-house kicks the figure. We then see a figure fall hard to the ground, but it is NOT the short stout figure. Rather it is the man from scene 19. Are these scenes related then, or just a editing thing?
27th scene: Cheetara

28th scene: Disappearing cat
We see Tygra standing next to a stockade with a Plundarian reptile in it. He swings his whip and disappears as two Thunderian peasants appear to be trying to attack him. These appear to be the same peasants from the mob in scene 23. Why are they attacking Tygra? Are they revolting against the ThunderCats? Or are they perhaps trying to get to the reptile to do some unpleasant things to him and Tygra’s trying to stop them from doing vigilante type punishments on him?
After looking over the Trailer again, it appears that this scene is the same event as scenes 12 & 24. In both those scenes the reptile in the stockade can be seen partially in the background.
29th scene: More palace training
Some quick cut scenes of Lion-o wielding the Sword of Omens in the same area as scene 25. Claudius is looking on.
30th scene: Logo
Um, they show the logo. 
Okay, so there you have it… Over all I liked it a lot and I’m excited for the series to start!!

Forgot to mention… noticeably absent from this trailer is Panthro. This seems consistent with reports that Panthro will be on site (Third Earth) before the other cats get there. Most of the clips we saw seem to be on Thundar (the possibly exception being the Plundar slave scenes).
