It just occurred to me, if Lion-O does fall for a Warrior Maiden, wouldn’t Nayda be a better choice than Willa?
Both she and Lion-O are the youngest in a litter of two
Both have most likely had to live with their older siblings gloating about their accomplishments
and both have likely had to live with the fact that their own people favored their older sibling over them
Just a thought
It still creeped me out. Is the monster anything like Viragor? And speaking of which, I was really hoping for Viragor to make an appearance in the Battle of Avista. As much as the Forever Bag trick was awesome, I’d have loved to see Viragor flying, carrying the allies on his back, while the Kittens flank both his sides on their boards.
You just have to read it to find out, the third and final part should (hopefully) be posted tonight.

Part 3 posted! Holy crap, this story kicked my ass! I might lay off writing a bit and attempt to sketch some things.
I lost all of my progress for part four of mine due to a power outage, and I have been writing nonstop since last night. I think I may lay off a little after I release this part as well (considering I have 11 left).
I’ll read the third chapter for sure of “The Beauties and the Beast.”
At some point I’ll have to toss up some of my sketches for the creature designs as well as Willa and Nayda. I didn’t really deviate from the old school look too much but there are a few tweaks here and there.
Just got through reading the final chapter. Excellently written. Willa using the Sword of Omens’ sight beyond sight was a brilliant tribute to her using sight beyond sight in the “Garden of Delights” episode of the OS.
Thanks, I had a hard time figuring that one out. It was something I really wanted her to do, but in the new series Sight Beyond Sight is very much tied to Lion-O as part of his symbiosis with with Sword so I just said “Screw it, he tricks the Sword by placing Willa between him and it.”

I think my favorite part are those giant sparkly black eyes. Not gonna lie, totally stole those from The Drifter.

Yeah, she did. I think that’s the main reason why a lot of people assumed the possibility of a potential romance between her and Lion-O, because she was one of the few (only?) characters who could use the Sword of Omens just as well as he could. Of course the Sword was also a bit less picky in the old series too.

Hmm, so the only people in the OS who could wield the Sword, apart from Lion-O, were Claudus, Jaga and Willa only. And they showed only Jaga and Claudus using it in the NS. And WilyKit actually held it, but never used it. The list just gets interesting…
Other characters could use the sword, kind of. Lynx-O was able to get it to respond to him once and Snarf could use it too (although that’s just one of the many things we ignore about Snarf), but Willa was the only one who could not only use the sword completely, but was considered Lion-O’s equal as a fellow ruler.
I don’t remember the Lynx-O time (probably because I’ve barely seen any of the second season), but I remember Snarf using it.
