The DVD's

I was going to wait, to see if maybe, we would get a remastered set for their 30th anniversary. But who are we kidding? If TMNT didn’t get it, this won’t. So I took the plunge and bought all 4 sets. They are pretty cheap on Amazon.

Sure, they are light on extra materials, but I’m surprised the video doesn’t look that bad. Sure there is tons of dirt and grain, but the colors are vibrant, image is stable, and no color bleeding. The video looks day/night better than some of those TMNT episodes on DVD. Oh, and the episodes seems to be IN ORDER, unlike TMNT.

Time to marathon this puppy.

ThunderCats HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I own the original “ThunderCats” on DVD as well.

I was going to buy them a lot sooner, but I wanted to wait. I wish there was more extras, but I can deal with it.

Congrats on taking the plunge! I watch mine all the time!

Good for you. Do you also own the 2011 show on DVD?

As far as I know season 1 is quite out of order.
As far as I know the complete TMNT boxset of all 10 seasons is in order…but I never finished watching it as it got really bad after the first 3-4 seasons.

Well, from the episode wiki I get this:

The list below presents the episodes in their original broadcast order, which is also the order used for the DVD release of the series. However, neither this order nor the original production order of the episodes is the correct chronological story order for the series. Although there is little in the way of major continuing storyline running through ThunderCats, certain creatures reoccur and clips from other episodes are employed. At times, the order used below causes these to be presented out of order. This is only a problem in the second half of season 1, and especially affects the five episodes which comprise the mini-series Lion-O’s Anointment, which are split up throughout the latter half of the season, when the stories featured are supposed to occur on consecutive days. Re-airing on the Cartoon Network years later, the series was presented in a slightly altered, more chronological order with Lion-O’s Anointment shown in consecutive order.

This is how it was aired on TV too back in the 80’s. Seems to only affect Lion-O’s trial, really not a big deal.

Also, on TMNT it starts with Season 5, a lot of them are out of order. Trust me I own them all but season 7, 8.

We’re working - slowly - on a continuity order for season 1 on here. I got about the first 22 episodes sorted out on my own, and we’re working on sorting the rest out. It’s all about spotting references that mean episode Y has to come after episode X and suchlike.

It aired in a different order here in the UK.
