Thursday 17th is sounding good, it just leaves MannyF, Matt and Mark - think those are gonna be the trickiest as it sounds from their posts above like MannyF is away for a while, Matt can only do weekends and Mark can only do Saturdays. How’s about it guys, how is Thursday 17th January for you?

Hey guys, I can do Thursday from 5:00 to 5:45 but then I have to pack up and go to a night class. Please don’t hold off on having the meeting because of me though. I am happy to contribute my thoughts before and after the meeting. If anybody has questions about the Animation Art area or if there are site wide discussions that you’d like me to chime in on, please let me know.

Yay! Thursday the 17th is perfect for me! I get back from my trip on Wednesday (16th) and decided to take the rest of the week off.

Hey Mark, thanks for this - to be honest, speaking personally I’m not certain yet what will be discussed at the meeting, I have quite a few thoughts and (relatively minor) concerns but obviously I think that Kyle should be the main man for the meeting given that he’s the one that called it!
In the meanwhile, though, I’d love to know what plans you have for the Animation Art Section - for anyone visiting this site IMO it would be good for the “awareness value” of the section if it were to receive some sort of update (i.e., one that could be posted on the front page) in the not-too-distant future, but obviously that’s your judgement call, my friend! If you have any plans formulated for updates to that section, as always I’d love to hear them, whereupon you shall doubtless be treated to my customary “Geeked-Out Fanboy” impersonation when I hear about the awesome stuff you have!

I think one of the topics we should bring up is funding…its not a necessity right now but it would be cool to do different things throughout the year like giveaways and such. One of the things i had in mind is to perhaps get CSG to do advertising via our front page for a certain amt per month, quarterly or yearly. I am waiting now on the pieces to come back from them to see if its worth it to offer advertisement to them. Certainly something to think of

On a similar note, it would also be good to see the Amazon affiliate links added back to the front page (assuming they haven’t already - it’s been a while since I checked) - I know MannyF was working on some sort of Flash animatic for those, which I believe is why they were initially taken down…
Also, whatever happened to TCL’s affiliation with Collectica?!

i can do the 17th possibly. I run the possibilty of getting out of work at 730pm est. What time are you starting I dont want to miss a whole lot.
The meeting will start at around 6pm ET from what I understand, if it’s from 11pm UK time. UK is 5 hours in front of USA ET time.
and yep I can do thursday 17th no problem. I can stay on really late, way into friday morning if it helps our USA friends.
Makes no difference cos I’ll be online from about 8pm onwards anyway.
Ok guys, its looking like I am not gunna be able to attend the meeting this coming Thursday. I am away from home all week in London for something I can’t get out of. There are no good sites on the internet that will allow me to use Skype on my iPhone for group chats, and the hotel I am staying in charges an initial fee of £15 for internet access and additional charges for how much I use it.
So you guys can go ahead without me, which I have no problems with (given that I only usually contribute minor points).. I can forward on my points to Chris to raise.
Or.. we can attempt to re-schedule.
Please don’t let me halt this though.. (I feel guilty enough having called this meeting)

It would probably be quite boring for you, insofar as at my end there would be long periods of silence whilst I was talking to the others - but, I’m pretty confident that for any major issues that required your expert input, that way of working things could be made to work!
The burning question is - if you won’t be able to be present in the team chat, who will chair it?! :?

LOL, well, yes and no - I enjoy doing it, but was looking forward to your laid-back style of meeting chairmanship, somehow I think you’d put a lot less noses out of joint than I would and have!
