are there any Wrestling Fans here at the Lair?
hows it going folks. im still relatively new here altho some of you might know me. i was just wondering if there were any tcats fans here who were also wrestling fans as well? i figured since wrestlemania (wrestling’s version of the superbowl/world series) just took place last wkened, it might be a good time to start a thread about discussing the latest goings on fo the squared circle, be it WWE or TNA or whatever. so … discuss!

im not really to fond of todays wrestling, the stuff from the past is alot better by far
I used to watch it. I think I stopped just after the Summerslam where there were 2 Undertakers.
The old WWF wrestling was cool. Some of the commentators were hilarious. I remember one instance when someone was locked to the ropes with handcuffs (either Hulk Hogan or Randy Savage) and Miss Elizabeth was hunting for the keys to the handcuffs from the other wrestlers pocket (he might have been knocked out) and one of the commentators said something like what’s she doing, she’s going to steal his wallet. It was things like that, that were funny.
Todays commentators and wrestlers just ain’t the same as the old ones were back in the 80’s and early 90’s 
Professional wrestling began and ended with Andre. Humanitarian and showman supreme. Modern day “wrestling” is overly violent, sexualized, and more often than not, just plain ugly. I think it’s time to throw in the towel when you have hordes of over-testosteroned teenage boys chanting “suck it” at a couple of steroid-created monsters.

I do have to say I am a wrestling fan…the latest Wrestlemania was good IMO…definitely better than last years. A few shockers to say the least…I mean c’mon Rey Mysterio? The Worl Heavyweight Champion, that guy weighs no more than a buck 70. I had my suspicions he was going to win…Rey had what my wife calls the “Eddie” bonus. He’s not gonna last more than a few months. The HBK/McMahon fight was superb IMO…Mr. McMahon got a serious beating and my eyes could not believe when Shawn landed the elbow from the top of the ladder. I do have to say though that WWE need to seriously work on the story lines. The “Eddie” thing is and has been way overdone…let the man rest in peace you know?. Im up for some Wrestling convo. In fact I think I’ll make this thread into a WWE talkback thread
80’s wrestling beats wrestling these days. I watch it once in a while now but back in the day, I never missed it. I do like Triple H and Randy Orton though.
well its good to see the wreslting discussion has been kept somehwta alive while ive been too busy to post. in my opinion the state of WWE has gotten a bit sour (even moreso than it already was) what with the “God” angle and everything else altely. however a bright turn of events maybe taking place as ECW is going to return this summer. what do you all think? will it be successful despite being backed by vince and his $$$?

God angle what a disgusting way to make people watch wrestling
WWE really disgusted me with the God angle, i lost a lot of respect for McMahon when he came up with that idea. Not that I had much of respect for him anyways but the God angle was uncalled for. ECW though might be WWE’s saviour IMO…it is great to see ECW come back. My question is if their coming back for good or just for their once a year PPV…Im all for a regular schedule of ECW, wrestling needs ECW to come back to gain some credibility. Im not a fan of TNA, TNA is a lame attempt at a “WCW” comeback but with a different name. Ultimately ECW’s comeback i think IMO will be a big success regardless of who backs it up
