I was thinking about the projects that lay ahead of us in the coming months and I must say that although there are and endless amount of things that have to be done I wanted to bring the idea of starting a monthly newsletter. Another idea that I wanted to bring together for all the sections is something along the lines of a quarterly publication wether it be in paper or preferrably in online form. I know this can be done and if we pull all our resources and knowledge together this could be possible. Readers can send in their questions, submit pictures and anything else that we can come up with and we can send this out to all the members on a quarterly basis. I think it could help with promoting the website a little better. I know this may be something out of reach for now but I just thought I may bring a suggestion and see what you all think.

I definitely like the idea of having a TCL Newsletter, I think actually reaching out to people’s e-mail Inboxes and reminding them that we’re here is a very good idea indeed. I know several websites where you can sign up for update notifications by e-mail, so it might be a good idea for us to do the same! 
And yes, I also think making such a thing interactive (i.e., taking submissions from TCL Board members/general public) is a good idea too, although obviously then someone has the job of editing the newsletter, which is of course yet another job for someone on the team. However, in principle I really like these suggestions!
Slightly off-topic, but something else I’d love to see us explore is the possibility of having an actual Fan Section of the site, in addition to the Fan Creations Boards on the forums - there is some amazing TCats fan art around (not least of all some beautiful pieces I’ve seen from our resident art genius Kyle), I’d love to see an actual section for showcasing the best material!

Definately cool ideas, however I’m not sure everyone has the time to dedicate to this kinda stuff to be honest. We are already trying to nail down the podcast with very little luck as it is.
However if you can handle the Newsletter Manny, I’m sure folks would be happy to include their progress of the site in it. I think we discussed this kinda thing at the last meeting (I know it was aimed at Team members only) but we can adapt it perhaps to make a site wide kinda thing. However I’m not sure how folks will feel about us spamming their email accounts with this. I guess it could work so long as it’s only sent out, something like quarterly.
As for the publication, I think that is a mammoth task that folks will have a huge problem contributing too. Unless content from the site is taken and put into print? I know that sometimes folks struggle with finishing pages and content for the site, so folks might not be able to copy with contributing to another project as well.
I can’t speak for everyone, but this is how I feel as I know I wouldn’t be able to contribute really as I’d sooner dedicate all my free time to putting new content up on the site.

I think Neil speaks wise words about the time putting a newsletter publication together - to be honest, I’m sufficiently pushed for time that working on the Cartoon and Comic Sections is enough for me at the moment, I really couldn’t take on another related project like that unless it was just writing a one-off article or something. That may change once I’ve made some headway with the Episode Guide and more of the comics, but with 110 episodes still to write up, plus well over 100 comics, that’s a lot before I even get to stuff like Special Features for both sections, etc.!
Nonetheless I think these are good ideas and should at the very least be kept in mind, if not for now then when the site is closer to completion!

Figured I’d put my two cents in. I like the idea of a newsletter and of having an actual fan section of the site.
Since I don’t do a whole lot here yet, I’d also be willing to help out with one or the other (or possibly have a hand in both, depending on the jobs needed to be filled). Let me know if I can be useful

Holy thread revival, Batman #3! Even though I realise at the present time MannyC is (very understandably) tied up elsewhere, I just thought I’d bump this promotional idea back up to folks’ attention, as I think the idea itself is a good one!
I’m still kind-of tied up with the Cartoon & Comic Sections otherwise I’d offer myself, but if someone wanted to take this on, I think it could be a winner!
The other thing we could do is just simply set up an e-mail newsletter whereby we send out an e-mail every time we update, copying most of the text from the front page - I know that MannyF has sent out e-mails in the past relating to certain TCL-related events (for example, when the site has had technical “downtime”), maybe that could be expanded upon?

Awesome stuff, Angie! I don’t think it’s necessarily an urgent job, but, IMO it is a way that this site could be brought to the forefront of folks’ attention, so, definitely something to bear in mind for the future!
