Allright I just got a signed picture from Larry for a contest/giveaway. It shouldnt take too long to organize one for the site. Basically what we’re looking for is member contribution in one way or another wether is by fan art, fan-fiction or simply to show how big of a Thundercats fans you are.
In order to cover everything I think it would be wise to have 3 categories. General, Fan-Fic and Fan Art. The purpose of this is to give those people that cant do any fan fic or fan art to still have the chance at winning something.
For the General section we can have a contest so people will show how big of a Thundercats fans. It must be something other than fan art or fan fiction and only one entry per member in either of the 3 categories. The 2nd section would be fan art, I would much rather Angie set up the rules for this section of the contest and it would be cool if the fan-fic is kept short. I think the fan fic should be kiddie friendly definitely nothing more than your standard PG-13 rating.
Last but not least is the fan art section. Kyle is not here so I would need someone to set up some rules for that section. My thoughts were Mark since he is the mod for that section as well but if thats not possible then one of the team members can do it.
Prizes:
Prizes will and will not be related to Thundercats. For example, the general section winner will win an autographed picture from Larry Kenney while the Fan-Art section could have the choice of a USB Tablet, a USB Flashdrive or a set of drawing pencils while the winner of the Fan Fiction section will have a choice of a caligraphy set, a USB Flash drive and a third choice yet to be determined.
The giveaways for the general section and the fan-art section are nailed down but the fan fic section still needs a 3rd option.
I need the most help possible to make this a success. The whole purpose will be to gain participation from old and new members. Once the contest starts it is advised to do as much PR work as possible and to advertise this to the fullest. It will mean more new members and more visitors to the site.
Please post here any suggestions you may have concerning giveaways or any idea which will be of benefit o this contest/giveaway
Anyway, I was thinking - how’s about us publishing that interview to the Cartoon Section and announcing it on the day of Larry’s upcoming 60th birthday?! What do you think? We could give a shout-out to the forum member (Songya was it?) who suggested we do something like that - what do you guys think?! LMK and I can jump straight on it!
