Word on the street is that the new Thundercats cartoon is already on the verge of cancellation. The toy sales have plummeted after their initial release. Supposedly they sold really well at first but this was attributed to adult collectors. Now they’ve cooled considerably because kids aren’t buying them because they aren’t watching the show, which is likely because they mostly don’t even know the show exists.
The show will likely not go beyond the initial 26 episodes and the toyline planned for 2012 will be cancelled.

And Wave 2 of the toys is confirmed for early next year with pictures just recently being released.
Who/what/where is your source for this information?
Both my mother and girlfriend work at elementary schools and about a month or so I asked them to do a quick informal survey…
they are at different schools, each housing bout 800 kids or so…prek - 5th, each class holds average of 25-30 kids
anyway…one is a music teacher and one is a coach, so they get to see every single class…
all they asked was " so who here likes thundercats?", then they asked “how many of you know what thundercats is”
needless to say the response was not good, roughly about 3 to 5 kids per class knew what thundercats was, and 1 or 2 per class had watched any of it.
i know it does not mean much, but its a population sample…
compared to shows like star wars, and other cartoons that are on cartoon network it sadly trails way behind

as for elementary school kids… the show comes on at 8:30pm. most of those kids are either in bed, getting ready for bed, or their parents wanna watch something else. I think the show is geared to kids a couple years older than 6 and 7 with it’s time slot. my 13 yr old nephew loves it.
oh and it doesn’t trail behind other CN shows. it beats most of their ratings. clone wars and thundercats both had 0.5 last week for example.
Without an official source for this info, this thread is pretty much redundant. Feel free to speculate on the success of the relaunch, but please don’t make extreme statements without concrete info
