Actually I’m a fan of the Cheetara/Tygra romance. I never liked the Cheetara/Lion-O romance for several reasons…1. it’s waaaaay over written in fanfiction, 2. remember, Cheetara was an adult in Exodus when Lion-O was a child and in the Wildstorm comics, she was chosen to be his guardian…so it’s so wrong on so many levels for her to be with Lion-O. Besides, Cheetara and Tygra seemed to have clicked so well in the old cartoons.
I agree. I haven’t read any ThunderCats fan fiction to know that’s a popular theme, but I agree with your reasons for why they shouldn’t, at least in regards to the original cartoon. She was an adult and Lion-O a child about Wilykat’s age when they left Thundera and even though he grew physically in suspension, his mind was still a child.
As a kid, I wasn’t interested in seeing any of the characters hook up. And now, I think they worked better as a team without having any relationship drama.
