It seems that more and more people are using the promise of cheap ipods as a way of scamming others. I’m suggesting we ban all ads for electronics in the forums as a way of removing our implied liability for allowing the postings.
What do you guys think? Anybody opposed to the idea?

Sounds fine to me - if we just add a rule to the General Marketplace that we regret that folks aren’t allowed to advertise electronics such as iPods, TVs, etc., that should do the trick nicely IMO! 
Anyone else with any thoughts about this?

Yeah, I’d be happy with a rule stating that we don’t allow trade or sale of anything that isn’t classic series/show/media related nostalgia.
I think that would be going a bit far beyond what I intended. I’d be cool with people selling their couch on here or a set of He-Man toys or other assorted stuff that is likely to appeal to our members.
I’m even cool with the person who posts about buying cheap DVDs because it doesn’t feel like a scam to me.
I just want a reason to be able to delete the spam for iPods and other scams that you just kinda sniff test and it smells rotten.

I meant classic shows/video games/DVD’s/CD’s related stuff. So He-Man toys and those cheap DVD’s would fall into that bracket.
However using your example a settee not so much :eek: This kinda forum really ain’t the place for something that isn’t collecting related.

EDIT: Also does everyone agree to physically removing these posts? I’m noticing a lot are soft deleted and as I can still see them after they have been modded they annoy the heck outta me! lol I say permanantly get rid of them!
