Stuff in the hopper - anyone here interested?

I’ve got some possible things coming up and would like to offer TCL a chance to post the info if you’re interested.

First off, I bought a disc full of music from this guy who was running a site full of cartoon music. It only has two tcats scores in the whole thing - the French Theme and Cheetara’s theme music (full and clear, with no cartoon sound effects or whatnot) - in mp3 format. I’d downloaded these when he made them available on his site before, but because he never gave permission I never hosted them myself. However, since I bought this stuff, all bets are off  TCL’s welcome to these files too, if they want them.

Oh and if you’re a fan or know of a fan site that might want the other stuff on there…there’s a ton of Transformers stuff, some He-Man, some Jem, and some Inspector Gadget to name a few.

Otherwise, an interesting comment was left on my site’s episode guide the other day. It seems the fellow who wrote the Sarfari Joe episode stopped by and left his two cents - and a plug for some comic reprint that was supposed to have a Joe-inspired character in it. Anyway, given this guy is really Stephen Perry and is interested, I emailed him asking if he’d like to do a chat or an interview. If TCL wants to jump in on that, I’m game.
I’m just waiting to see if he responds and then go from there.

That would be great to add the French Theme and Cheetara’s theme music to the media sction. I for one would love to hear them. On the Stephen Perry subject I for one would be excited if we could host a chat or interview. Although I cant speak for Chris on this one but Im sure he for one would be delighted of this news. If this can be arranged that would be great. There is one minor problem and that is the chat issue. Unfortunately our chat room has a tendency of kicking people out every so often and so we have to look for an alternative for a chat room. However I think for something like this the current chat room we have should suffice until we get another one

Chris here…

Outstanding! A massive “Yes please!” to this one! I’d like to put together an article for the Cartoon Section about the music used in ThunderCats, talking about Bernard Hoffer, etc., and to have some examples of the music would be great!

I have a confession to make - I’ve actually had an mp3 of the Cheetara theme music you mention for some while, which was sent to me personally by a member of the Boards at my request. He owns a French single that has the TCats theme song on one side and Cheetara’s theme on the other, and ripped them to mp3 - he asked me not to share the file of Cheetara’s theme that he sent me, and so that’s why I’ve kept it to myself. It is, however, the 8th most played song on my iPod!

If we could actually get these up for all the fans to be able to access, I’d be on that like cheese on a pizza - especially if they could be used in the context of an article about the TCats music!

Well, I’d be interested to hear pretty much all of it - I’m a fan of all of those shows!

Wowie, wowie, wow, wow, wow, you bet your bottom dollar I would love us to speak to Stephen Perry! Thank you so much for the heads-up about this, you’re really kind!!

Re: the chatroom issue that MannyC references, I have a suggestion about that - as your Return to Thundera site is well-known for hosting interactive chats such as you mention with ThunderCats celebrities, maybe you could take care of that end and post up the chat, and here at TCL we could conduct an interview with Mr. Perry and host that over here? The two pages could have links to each other, and in this way we could kind-of create a complimentary, “double-pronged attack”!

I don’t know what the rest of you guys think, but, this is the way I personally would be inclined to play it - what say the rest of you?

Take care…

Yes, I believe that’s what this was from, too…a single of some sort so I bet it’s the same darn thing.

I’ll get those files uploaded somewhere asap so you guys can download them.

If you’re really interested in hearing the whole disc, it’d probably be easier for me to copy the dvd and snail mail it to you. There’s quite a bit on there, and it might be cumbersome to share over the internet. Let me know what you’re comfortable with.

I’ll keep you posted on the Stephen Perry thing. Sometimes this stuff works out, sometimes it doesn’t. I’m still waiting on an interview I sent to Lee Dannacher ages ago. She’d agreed to it and everything. Ah well, people get busy, what can you do?

The chat thing…I don’t mind a shared link up or whatever. I had one going with EOT for a while. To be honest, my channel is hardly active and usually only when things are scheduled to happen in there is anyone in it. You might not want to permenantly associate with it therefore, but it’s pretty easy to throw out a java portal to it for those occassions where we may be chatting with a special guest. If you need the applet code, just let me know.
Otherwise, it can be accessed through mIRC on the afternet server, channel name #TEBchatorama
Yeah, I know…dorky channel name but the good ones were taken :duh:

Wow Purrsia you’ve only been here a day or so and already your offering so much! :jaw: It’s brilliant to have you here and I know when I asked you how you felt about joining the team, I knew I was doing the right thing.

Like has been suggested, I’d go with conducting all the chat interviews via your tried and tested chat room and we can all bundle in over there  Also with Stephen posting on your site Purrsia in the first place, he might be more comfortable conducting the interview there.

Guys perhaps we could make Return to Thundera our official sister site now? I mean we never really got anywhere with regarding EOT in that way.

As for the Cheetara theme, I wondered if I could possibly get the file sent to me? I want to put it on my mobile phone as my ringtone  My email address is: blackiecats@yahoo.co.uk (this address allows for big files)

Chris here…

You’re really kind, thank you! Re: the files on the disc, before you go to the expense of snail mailing (bearing in mind that a lot of us are based in the UK!), maybe the best option would be for you to post what’s on it? For example, I already have all of the tracks from the Transformers: The Movie soundtrack, so those would be tracks that (if they were on the DVD you have) I didn’t need. What do you think?

I agree wholeheartedly!

I agree totally with what you say Neil - I would love to have an interview with Stephen to host on this site in our About the Series subsection, but as far as a live interactive chat is concerned, that’s something of a Purrsia trademark and I would be inclined to leave to Return to Thundera.

Yep, I’m happy with that if everyone else is!

Believe me, you won’t regret it - like I say, it’s an essential part of my iPod!

Take care…

That’s cool. You guys and everyone that comes to this site are welcome to attend any chat that happens, and if you want to use a portal like I was talking about before to make it easier, that’s find too. Or if an interview happens, people from this site are welcome to contribute to that as well. Definitely host a copy of the log or interview here if you’d like. I don’t mind.

I’m curious, when you say sister sites, what do you mean?

Those sound files - many don’t have descriptive track names, just numbers, but they are organized in folders. Many of the themes I’ve listened to sound familiar but have lyrics sung in a foreign language (however, the Jem stuff seems to all be in English). A lot of the other stuff is instrumental, or at least as far as I’ve listened. I’ve never seen Transformers and haven’t listened to any of the tracks from it. I’m sure that list will mean more to you than to me.
Files are usually mp3 format (or some other kind of sound file) unless otherwise noted.
Here’s the list:

Phew. That’s it.
I should have the tcats stuff ready to download soon. The He-Man scores are really nice, too.
Everything on the disc comes to over 2 GBs of files, so yeah if you want most or all, it’d be better to make a copy. Otherwise, we can figure out how to transfer a few here and there if that’s all anyone is interested in. Let me know!

Commiting the sin of double posting to put up those links to the Thundercats singles. Enjoy.

French Theme

Cheetara’s Theme

Its only a sin outside of the team area and even so we as the governing rule of TCL can get away with it…LOL. Every so often you’ll notice that magically the posts have been merged

Basically just have prominant links to the others site and share new content. We can also publically aknowledge we are partners. I guess sort of a compromise to a merger seeing as I know you want to keep your independance while contributing here. I guess really it’s just an annoucment we are working together really.

Like I said before, my idea was to bring the community together, so hopefully folks from here will utilize your site and regulars from your site will utilize this one. Nothing complicated, hopefully you get what I’m saying because sometimes what I say can be a bit confusing and make little sense! lol

By the way, thanks for uploading the mp3’s! Just downloaded Cheetara’s theme and it’s excellent. Though I might need to edit it down a bit for a ring tone, but will definately burn the full version on a CD to listen to on my Hi-Fi system!

Sounds cool. I could easily add a button or something to the footer on my site and then, of course, crosslink in strategic locations. I can try to get that in for my next batch of updates, in fact.

Glad you enjoyed the Cheetara theme. Just wish there was more of that kind of thing out there!
