Guys, I mentioned a while back that I had caught a little segment on the Paul O’Grady where someone had sent him in a Ssslithe action figure. I have it on DVD and can upload it no problem. However the file is huge!
I think when I checked the other day, it was something like 220MB! :yikes:
Obviously it needs compressing down, but I have no idea how to do it. It probably needs some editing doing as well. If this is hosted on the site I’d like our logo put on the video. I can do this as I have Ulead Video studio. I actually tried editing it in Ulead Video studio, but it wouldn’t load as it said it wasn’t a video file?
It plays fine in Real and Windows players, so not sure why it’s saying it isn’t a video file when I try to load it in Video studio.
So if I upload it, can someone compress it for me, save as an .mpg file and then I can edit it myself.
Hoping someone can help
I’m gonna try to upload it now, though it will take sometime I’m guessing…
What did you use to get the footage onto your computer Neil?
If it’s a case of simply ripping the footage from the Dvd, I would recommend AOA Dvd Ripper(you can download a free trial version that works fine). That should make the file about 50/60mb and put it into Divx/Xvid format, which should be easier for editing it down.

I recorded it on DVD using a DVD recorder and then saved the .VOB file from the disc on my PC. I’ve already uploaded it now, so if anyone can do anything with it for me, you can find it here:
Martin, I tried to download and set up the free trial version of AOA DVD ripper (I googled it) but I couldn’t get it to load up and install on my PC. Probably because my PC is quite old (it runs on Windows 98!)
I’m not asking anyone to spend time they don’t have editing it, but just to shrink it down a bit and perhaps turn it into an .avi file. If anyone can help, I will extremely grateful
I downloaded the file and tried to do it myself last night, but the colours kept changing to weird purples whenever I changed the format.

I ended up using imTOO DVD ripper. I used their trial version which allows you to rip 5 minutes of the file. The whole file only lasted 6 minutes and 20 seconds so that was just perfect
I also edited the clip using Ulead Video studio, which is the first time I have ever used that program fully. I’ve had the software disc in my discs folder for years and never utilized it until now.
I’m uploading the finished video as I type this. It’s around 29MB in total. I have tried playing it on Real player and Windows Media player and it plays great. I wondered if the rest of you guys could download it and try playing it as well? Just so I know it works ok.
I’ve also been trying to convert the Burger King and Shreddies ads as well, but for some reason imTOO is only converting half of those ads (15 seconds) as they run for 31 seconds. Not exactly sure why it’s doing that, but I’ll keeping try to convert these
