So who is this strange lil person...

Sadly people who abuse animals get off too easily. Just goes to show how broken the system is. Cant tell you the number of rescued dogs I have to train that have so many issues from abuse. One poor dog you cant put a string lead on him without the dog throwing himself on the ground, urinating, and trembling. He used to be tied out with a rope and beaten. Breaks my heart.

But Lordore, did you contact the authorities or animal control? So sad. I cant imagine how painful that must have been for you dear.

hi there welcome to tcl enjoy your stay im the resident 80s toon fanatic :D:p

Nice to meet you. I’m a sucker for animals too and actually make my living on a farm and as an animal naturopath (and human too).

Love your pictures. And the costumes are very cool! I’m a Tygra fan too (gee, I feel so alone in that…)

I keep meaning to sign on and post more. I lurk, a lot. So a welcome from me probably doesn’t mean a whole lot, but welcome anyway.

Thanks you two for the welcome! And yay for another Animal lover! I’d love to work on a farm. I miss the BIG critters. I did a Horse class in College that was just great. Your one lucky cat!

And no problem being a lurker ^_- And YES another Tygra fan! Go Tygra, go Tygra!

I already said hi to you on Purrsia’s site but I want to say hi again here.

When I was 16, my very first job was working at a pet store called “Doctor Pet”, I worked cleaning the dog kennels on weekends while my mother cleaned them during the week. It was a messy job but the puppies were sooooo cute! There was this one little Karin Terrier we named “Teacup”, she was so tiny but what she lacked in size, she made up for it in her attitude LOL So she was a “storm in a teacup”, thus her name

There was this one German Shepherd puppy I named “Bomber” because soon as you opened his kennel, he dove right out of it like a dive-bomber plane and I had to quickly catch him. I loved that dog, and there was this other German Shepherd puppy the store named “Hoodini” because somehow, someway, he always managed to open his kennel during the night and when we came in in the morning, there he was ready to greet us ROFL

Right now, I do own a cat, finally my husband allowed me to get one. She was a stray but was the sweetest cat I’ve ever met. She came into my mother’s backyard back in October. Now my mother owns this gigantic German Shepherd (can you tell my family and I love German Shepherds), and he came running up to this little cat and she stood her ground and didn’t back down. She puffed up and when I went to her, I extended my hand, guessing on she’ll probably scratch me, but she nuzzled me instead. I’ve had her ever since and she’s like a dog, she’s so tame and so interacting with my kids like a puppy. Because of her tough attitude and she loves to stalk anyone walking by to pounce on them, my sister named that cat “Lynxie”. So no, it’s not a shameless Mary Sue plug-in, I had nothing to do with her name LOL

I would like to repeat myself here and say once more i really appreciate everyone’s concern and interest. It means a lot to me. Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart.

My puppy’s name derived from her physique. When she first came to me she was so frail and weak her bones virtually squeezed out her delicate skin. Still, she had those troubled and gentle eyes which broke my heart. I couldn’t let it go and leave her on her own, this dog stepped on my porch dying, out of the blue, and was resurrected like Lazarus..The 5 months she was by me, was enough time to bond with Bonny and single her out to any other dog i ever had.

This tragic event took place about a month ago, the neighbor is an old man around 75 who doesn’t live permanently in the area,he comes there mostly during summer, still ha was annoyed by the dog’s presence… My house is located in the province close to a mountain slope and away from the populated center, the whole place is surrounded by the beauties of nature, flora and fauna is all around me. As you understand, it is the ideal setting to have a pet by your side, without causing trouble to anyone.

He had threatened me quite a few times. In the summer i reported it on the local police and told him if he goes on i will take him to the court. unfortunately due to my work and a few other responsibilities i spend much time in the city and i had to live Bonny alone, i was gone for a day and when i returned the Sunday morning, the poor dog was foaming at the mouth and was in critical condition, I took her to the vet at once but the worst case scenario…occurred.

I’ve been trying to go to law and resort to the legal proceedings but in my country red tape prevents me from making the right actions on time. I am telling you bureaucracy is a huge obstacle in Greece almost in every aspect, let alone concerning, dog issues..To be honest, i don’t expect any justification,it’s a basket case, something similar happened to a friend of mine a couple of years ago and there was nothing he could do, this is the part where you take the law into your own hands…

Here we call it vendetta and i will retaliate, i just wished he was in my age. That was a huge stroke and i ain’t going pass it up like that.

Even though your time with her was short from what it sounds you gave her the best life she could ever want. TAking her in, loving her and feeding her. Even through all this horrible situation, if you can think of that it may help you feel a bit better <3

It doesn’t take long to get attached to a furbaby, 5 months or 5 years, it hurts no matter what. I am glad you were able to give her a comfortable and nice life while she was with you.
