Hey guys, was ne1 else watching that auction on ebay with all the thundercats items ? Im still in shock at what some of the items sold for, it was horrendous (if thats how its spelt lol). I tried to get the plush snarf but got outbid at $377 lol. Bengali moc went for $770 or so and a stinger sold for $1008 !! Raging i didnt get the plush snarf but ah well win some loose some. Wilykat sold for $510! i couldnt believe these prices..surely its just because xmas is coming up because if these are the future prices for thundercats i think im goin to have to call it a day with my collection lol!
Wow, those are some crazy prices!!!There were A LOT of great items though. I guess the rarer stuff are more worth it.
I was watching, and yes, my jaw hit the floor as well when I saw those final prices. :jaw: The MOC Stinger and Bengali were insane!! Even more insane though is how much the unsealed items went for that still had the original card and bubble.
I am wondering if those bidders really read the description and saw the items are no longer truly MOC? I mean, the unsealed Tygra w/Wilykat went for $258.00!! Which is very odd seeing as how there is a true MOC Tygra w/Wilykat on eBay for $250.00…(“Buy it now” price).
Yea alex i seen that tygra w/wilykat for $250 b.o and to be honest i was rdy to buy it out because i was really wanting to add something to my collection this xmas lol. How much did some of the other stuff go for..the 8backs that werent sealed? was only watching the sword of omens, stinger, bengali, snarf plush, cats lair (which was the most reasonable price i thought..kinda gutted i didnt bid for it now). If youve got links to some of the other items link them please so i could have a look, would much appreciate it, thanks.
Alex now i think of it..i think the reason why that tygra/wilykat sold unsealed for $258 or so was because it was from an 8back card. The buy out one is 14back.
I see what your saying. In comparison though last week a MOC C8-C9 Jaga sold for $170.00… You would think an unsealed item would do much less … which is why I am still in disbelief.
If you go into eBay’s advanced search options, just check off the “completed items only” box, and then search for Thundercats MOC or Thundercats MOSC, and you will see all of them.
hey thansk alex for the tip, im still looking at these prices..i mean its insane this cant be right..a mongor for $360 lol..i got mine in as gd condition about 6 months ago for £40 lol. The majority has been bought out by someone called gi joe empire..the guy must have alot of money for the prices he paid were outrageous.
Those tygras were 8backs. thats why they went so much, I was watching all of these auctions and am truly suprised by the results. I got my mib plush snarf for 100 bucks. I am shocked by them because I just got a proto figure for 100, and have gotten rarer foreign pieces for less than those prices. the fact that she had almost a complete set is what I think sparked the prices, that and the holidays.
Makes me want to sell my extra bengali and mongor moc
Either someone had deep posckets or something very fishy is going on. In over 3 years i have never ever seen a Stinger sell for over 1 grand. It’s no shock people these were some fishy auctions. Then again not everything was bought out by the gi joe fellow. But the Stinger was in a rare American card so who knows.
Remember though that Bengali had the NEW Sticker and was on an American card
I know. They would still bring about 1000 bucks for the 2 of them according to those prices anyway. But I wont sell, esp after finding the color variation on Mongor

For us hardcore Tcats fans with not a whole lot of money, completing our collections is gonna get rough. I still can’t get over $1,000 for the Stinger. lol
I was expecting it to go for about $300 at the most.
Even if I was in a good place financially, I still don’t think I would spend that much on a MOC Stinger. A Thunderwings Lion-o or Mummra, in C8 - C9 condition? Maybe, but I don’t know about the rest of the figures.
Hopefully you guys are right and this was all a case of Xmas fever. Also, I imagine that when the CGI film comes out, we will see another price sky rocketing phase like when Tcats first came back out on Toonami.
Its just a color variation, nothing to big or noticeable. But since I am a completist it is. I’ll try to get pics up. (I might also just be sun fading, or paints were running low at the plant). If I ever decided to sell the bengali Ill keep you in mind
That Bengali was the first one I’ve ever seen on an English card. The condition of him, Pumyra and Lynxo were all great. I guess having a collection of that range attracts a lot of fans like us
Crazy Auction
I was watching that auction for days, writing down the max i would spend on the mosc items, when i finished calculating the absolute max i would bid i was just under 5K, I won only 3 of the 32 items for sale. It was intense and crazy. That seller made some serious cash!
She has a lot of 80’s vintage toys. Her late husband must of been such a fun guy buying up all these goodies. Betcha he was some sort of prophet and knew this stuff would bring a great deal of wealth. Someone should interview her and get the full scoop on what it was like living with… “one of us!!!” Dun Dun DUNNNN!

Well Ive been toying with the idea of selling my 8 backs collection to finance some Thundercats purchases. However it’s tough to say what price to put on an 8 back collection. Ive spent years and lots of money to put it together and i really wouldnt want to see it go the same route as the graded Stinger did a while back. That auction was quite disappointing. Anyways I guess for the right price I can let it go, in the end it will be to finance for other Thundercats items
