I was really hoping there would be some new TC toys or cartoon news from the big Con this past weekend! Anyone hear anything?
Neither Warner Bros. or Bandai attended, so we kinda knew nothing new would be announced. From the footage I’ve seen of the panels, it looked like a great time was had!
Here’s hoping if the convention happens again next year, it will be even bigger and better! 
I guess I didn’t realize that they weren’t attending. Darn!! I hope that you’re right about next year as I’d love to attend!!!
Isn’t ThunderCon a fan con? There’s more chance of something being unveiled for New York Comic Con.
If WB or Bandai are attending then presumably.
That or the London Toy Fair in January, where the new series kinda made it’s debut, with that first glimpse earlier this year 
I think Bandai and this site got much more exposure than they thought they would!
They might decide to show wave 2 over here first again, riding off the publicity of wave 1 being in stores

I just finished watching a bunch of videos of thundercon on youtube…with multiple people reviewing past and upcoming motu classics and various characters, and i truly feel envious as a thundercats fan. theyve covered so much trerrain and some of the vehicles that are planned to be released are amaizing…hats of to mattel for the amaizing treatment and respect for this line. they truly know what fans want, the size of the figures is perfect..(6" vs 8"…not too thrilled bout the size) and the variety and the extent to which they are covering the line is superb. im praying that bandai continues with the classics line and at least reaches 10% of what mattel is doing for motu. one of my biggest concerns is that if the new cartoon flops they still continue to release classics periodically…hopefully more than a couple of figures a year…
Yeah the motu classics are really really nice figures and I wish the new Thundercats classics were close to the quality of them. Maybe they’ll improve over time…
there were quite a bit of MOTUC announcements there, so just because it is a “fan con” doesnt eliminate the possibility of major things happening
Just mentioning. I’ve never heard mayor announcements at fan cons is all.
It’s a shame that WB & Bandai don’t seem to care much about fans.
I really wish that Mattel bought the rights in first place, a classics line in similar size and sculpts with the MOTUC line would have been superior in every aspect.

Mattel isn’t doing a marvelous job with Voltron at the moment, so I’m pretty contempt with how Bandai is handling things.
Mattel would have been ok with the Classics line as they would likely sell those at the Matty store. The figures for the new series I’m not so sure about… from previous track records Mattel have been terrible with distribution and marketing. If we’d got the 2002 style He-Man toys for ThunderCats, I’d have been major disapointed as those toys were quite bad for product that was meant to be for kids!
As for Thunder-Con, it was a fan organised convention, so it kinda stands to sense WB/Bandai would see how the first year went before attending such an event. Sending reps to these things costs the company money and they would need to be sure they would get something out of it…
Just read through the thread and had a few comments to make..
I wish some of the fans on the he-man.org forums would see this thread so they could realize how lucky we He-Fans are with regards to how well Toy Guru interacts with the fans compared to other fandoms (such as this one).
As far as Mattel getting the rights to the Thundercats figures… I’m so glad they didn’t. Please keep the 4 horsemen away from this line. I’m pretty tired of their preference for asthetics over function.
The thundercats classics figures wouldn’t have had nearly as much articulation as they do if they had been done by the 4 horsemen. The 4H create great sculpts and are excellent artists, but I find myself constantly disapointed with their action figures. Statues, sure, if I was interested in those I’d love the 4H, but when it comes to action figures… Well try getting a classics he-man figures into the same poses as the classics lion-o.. Oh wait, you can’t.
The designers at Mattel ultimately engineer the articulation for the figures, not the Four Horseman.
From a He-man & She-ra fan. Who has bought Classics since 1st issue He-man and Beastman.
I’m really not to bowled over with MotUC at the moment. Things are not so pleasant in my opinion being a He-man/She-ra fan right now.
ThunderCats for me has been a welcome vacation. I was thrilled to be able to go into a store and buy Lion-o and Tygra classics for more than 20 U.S. dollars cheaper than MotUC. Then walk right out of the store with them same day. Tight joints both stand on their own. If something was wrong with them I could return and get a new one same day.
I have found the quailty on The ThunderCats Classics to be very good. They are durable.
I was also pleased that I was able to collect the whole team Cheetara included in about 2 weeks after I saw my first figure No endless Lion-o varients to wade thru as in the 200x He-man line.
My love for He-man and She-ra will never fade but I truthfully find myself having more fun with what Bandi has done with the ThunderCats. I just have had more fun with the ThunderCats.
