Howdy
After watching the rather embarissing special features of Thundercats Season 1 Volume 1 a few of them were mentioning their dislike of Snarf. I was wondering if anyone here also shared this dislike of Lion-O’s nursemaid?
I personally don’t, I think is a good if unfinny character that really comes into his own in epsiodes like Snarf takes up the Challenge.

Enjoyed Snarf, hated Snarfer. Oswald was a nessessary member of
the ThunderCats, heck he went into the Book of Omens to save
them, and the world. The ThunderCats were saved on many occasions
due to snarf being there for them.
I could due with out as many snarf snarfs in the dialogue but
that was probably required in some strange way.
I’m with Voive_Guy, Snarfer was just everything that you could potentially get annoyed about in Snarf multiplied by 1000. I think Planet of the snarfs would be unbearable though!!

Could you imagine punishment for mutants, being sent there?
Snarf is to Thundercats as Orko is to MOTU. They both provide the cheesy, but needed comic relief that most 80s shows have.
I always liked Snarf, never saw why people found him annoying, same with Orko. Now Snarfer was annoying!

I’m a big, big Snarf fan - from day one he’s always been one of my favourite characters, and a very necessary one IMO. I also really like Orko in He-Man, but I actually think Snarf as a character contributed more than Orko did.

I agree. Not that Orko wasn’t given depth (they gave him a lot of characterization), but I think again, Snarf was fleshed out more and that’s just how great the writing and story telling was for this series.

I think one of the biggest differences is the different roles the two characters played - whilst Orko was generally used as the “kid” character in He-Man (always casting spells that went wrong, goofing up, making mistakes on the one hand, learning life lessons and developing as a character on the other), as Lion-O’s nursemaid, Snarf created a whole different dynamic between himself and Lion-O, not quite a “father figure” but definitely not a “kid figure”. Consequently, for all that Orko was an integral part of Prince Adam/He-Man’s “family”, there was an extra special bond between Lion-O and Snarf, and I think that’s one of the big differences too!

I agree with everyone else. Snarf was necessary and a cool character in his own right. However Snarfer should have only appeared in Feliner parts 1 and 2 only. That was plenty of screen time for him!
Maybe even an episode or 2 appearance in season 2, but I don’t think he should have become a regular.
