Can’t they just straight out say his the token animal sidekick? He’s just the Momo or Pikachu of ThunderCats now. xD
I’m okay with the decision to not have him talk. One of the worst things of the old show, and I’m a big fan of it. I just never liked Snarf.

I liked Snarf, he added another dimension to the series which opened up for another type of episodes. Shame they removed his ability to speak… but better than removing him altogether or making him a battle cat… Heathens! 
Yeah I really hate the whole “battle cat” idea. I’d rather he not be in it at all than distorted like that. Very happy with the compromise they ended up with.
ThunderCats without Snarf wouldn’t be ThunderCats. So glad Ethan Spaulding jumped on board 
You really can’t do a reimagining thats respectful of the original without including all main cast members. I’d prefer he could talk, but I can live with him in the style of Pikachu.
He wasn’t all bad. Maybe it was the writing for his character. 
I think most of it was the actual voice. I liked him as a character. He had his annoying qualities, but he also had his courageous and heroic moments too.
Yeah “Snarf Takes Up The Challenge” is one of my favourite classic eps! I rented that VHS to death from the video store!
I do NOT like the new Snarf. I don’t even find him cute or charming. He sounds annoying to me. I miss the old Snarf. sniff
ya I preferred the old talking Snarf but I don’t dislike this new version of him either. Now I wonder if Snarfer will ever make an appearance because I used to really like him as well.
I personally liked the non-talking Cringer/Battle Cat in the MYP He-Man. I just thought the way it was handled in the Filmation show was just ridiculous. When I first saw the toy and the packaging, there was nothing about it that suggested to me that this thing could talk. So to hear words coming out of its mouth in that ridculous growling voice was just jarring to me and took me out of the show.
Getting to Snarf, I really like the new one. I’d say I’d even want one as a pet, but Ocelli and I already kind of do; we have a Ragdoll cat named Cheddar who looks almost exactly like him! I’ll post pics later when I can.
I think I could handle the new non-talking Snarf if they sounds he made didn’t sound like a baby. At least make him sound like a house cat. Seriously, he sounds like an infant making gurgling noises. Cute for a baby, annoying for his character.
Yep my one major nitpick of the new series is the handling of Snarf. They should have kept the character intact with voice and all (then just toned down is wining and preaching to Lion-O) Instead of a nanny, he could have been a childhood friend who grew up with Lion-O.
Making him Lion-O’s pet was a bad idea in my opinion. He no longer has any personality I feel they dropped the ball, the same way MYP did with the MOTU 200x cartoon with Cringer/Battlecat.
Everything else I love about the new series, so in my own ThunderCats 201x cartoon cannon he talks like he does in the OS.
I think he has plenty of personality. He showed it a little at the stone. He’s obviously still got more brains than an average house cat if he’s making faces at his reflection. I think it’s just that he didn’t have much screen time.

Balgus - yeah, he shows more intelligence than an average house cat. But he’s just too cutsie for me.
I’m not keen on the new Snarf either, at least not yet, if they give him plenty of personality it’ll be fine. If he’s like Abu from the Aladin films that’ll be cool, plenty of character and adding to the story, but if he continues to seem like Cringer from the 200x then sorry but I’d rather him not be there at all.
If I’d have been in charge of the series I think I’d have had the Snarfs still talk but belooked down on and barely appear. I like the idea suggested of having him be an old friend of Lion-O, growing up together, he wouldn’t need to appear often just enough to keep old fans happy and look at how unfair Thunderian society is if you’re not high class.
Personally I adore the new Snarf, I always found the old one annoying as hell and just a bit ugly, one of the reasons being that patch of skin around his eyes. Them getting rid of that was what made me first take an actual interest in the new Snarf months ago, he was just so cute and adorable, though I was still on the fence. But after this first ep I absolutely love him, every scene he was in was just gold. Making faces, tripping the guy up, sleeping in the horn and getting blasted awake, all brilliant. And don’t forget, at the beginning Snarf was making the noises and Lion-O was talking back to him, so obviously while he doesn’t speak English he is speaking some language.
I have always hated the old Snarf. Sometimes he made the cartoon unbearable. I hated his lines, his voice, his attitude, how he presents himself. He was egotistical, selfish, self centered, even an embarrassment to look at. He really was a jarjar binx. I’d want to show people Thundercats, but then i’d cringe and wince every time Snarf talked. Like damn it, he’s ruining it again. :mad: So I was really eager to see what the new Snarf would be like. I had my fingers crossed that they would do exactly what they did with him. I jumped off my couch fist pumping “I GOT MY WISH” and now i can rest assured that Snarf will not ruin this new version of Thundercats. The new Snarf is just the perfect mix of fantasy and mystery. He’s cute, and believable. He reminds me of Momo from Avatar. An intelligent animal that will obviously play an important role, but will not steal the show. Or sound like nails down a chalk board.
I remember as a child growing up watching Thundercats, that my mom did not like Snarf, and would often threaten to change the channel because of Snarf’s “bad attitude.” She was afraid it would influence my sister and me. I had to swear over and over again that I too hated Snarf, and that he often ruined the show for me. That there were really good messages in the show that if she just watched it she’d see em. My mother always listened to her children when we spoke up, so she saw that as Lion-O learned valuable lessons, so to would I.
Now that Snarf is not an annoying self absorbed whiner, I can show this show off to anyone proudly. Plus I have no fear of showing it to my nieces and nephews, knowing they will enjoy it, and not have to worry about the influence Snarf has on them. Heck I was so happy about the new non-talking Snarf, that i thought, maybe, just maybe, I could grow to love this new version. After all, he’s really adorable. Who wouldn’t want one? Who knows maybe they’ll come out with a Snarf plushy and i’ll have a new bedtime companion. I’m just so relieved he doesn’t talk. 
They also showed that Snarf was afraid to be in the alleys, so that’s some personality there too. I guess he was nagging Lion-O about it being dangerous.
