Only thing is now, for some inexplicable reason, I’m seeing the problem you had with the images - they’re all left-aligning rather than centering!
I haven’t taken a look at your code as don’t want to inadvertently break anything if you’re happy with the way it looks, but I reckon I could fix the problem - would you like me to take a look? LMK, my friend!
Unfortunately I haven’t done anything to the site for the past few days as I’ve been sick, but on Sunday night I did add some more of the updated Encyclopedia pages - I’m hoping to get some more of these done over the next few days!
What needed to happen was that, whilst the content of the table’s cells were centrally aligned, the table itself was left-aligned in-keeping with the default layout of the new site pages, so it just took one line of code to make it work OK.
Unfortunately I can’t make the bottom two images properly centered (i.e., center in relation to the images above) without creating a whole new table for them to sit in (albeit again, that should only be a simple matter of half a dozen lines of code), but if and when Hard Hero release another statue, that should fix the problem anyway!
One thing I noticed is that despite making the ‘Hard Heroes’ sub-category the parent of each of the individual character pages, that if I click any of the images, say for example to Cheetara, that it goes to the main page of the site.
I’ve no idea why it should be doing that - I have no idea whether or not it will cause a problem but my gut instinct is probably no - as long as the WP doesn’t change the actual page name (which is to say, the ream of numbers after page_id=xx), then I think it ought to be OK…but, don’t quote me on that!
I have a feeling when the new site goes live I shall have to spend a couple of days cleaning up some of the page links, as having contemplated this I reckon that having the “relaunch” folder in the URL mix could affect some of the page links (but not the images, for reasons complicated to explain). We’ll wait and see…
If there was a way that, when we upload the WP version of the site to the main directory, we could have 2 or 3 days with a “placeholder” front page graphic (something like a “ThunderCats Lair is changing - check back in a few hours to see the new-and-improved ThunderCats Lair”-type graphic) - I think that would probably take a lot of pressure off of de-bugging all the links!
Sorry guys, my cousin died of Leukemia last month and everything I was working on (both the site and non-site related projects) were pushed back quite a bit with family coming from around the world (literally). Another of my cousins (he’s just 5!) also got diagnosed with Kawasaki Blood Disease…so it’s kind of hard to focus right now…but trying to get back to normal.
Still chugging along on the Toy Section. Will be dedicating this coming Sunday to working on the site. I should get quite a few (x10) pages up then. Will also be updating the News Archive so that we are up-to-date when the site relaunches.
Hey Manny, thanks for the update - I knew about your cousin passing away from your Facebook, but didn’t know about your other cousin, really sorry to hear this is such a troubled time for your family.

I’ve completed the statue section for Pop Culture Shock in the new format… I only have Icon Heroes left which I’ll try to get to next weekend. I’m now ahead of my plan, I said I’d get Hard Hero done this month only, but I feel like I’m on a roll so am going to keep going and see if I can get all the statue pages done this month,
Am I correct in understanding that the updates will work as follows:

Could I ask you to give an update on the status of your sections as they stand now (just rough guesses are fine…) just to get a feeling as to how much has been tackled so far?

Articles & Features - 80% complete (still need to do the scripts, Treasures of Thundera, and the Deleted Scenes article)
Encyclopedia - 30% complete (midway through doing Good Character profiles, still got Evil Characters, Good Vehicles and Locations to do)
Episode Guide - 0% - not started
Comic Section
1% complete - have done graphics for main intro page (check them out earlier in this thread)
So yeah, still a long haul for me, although in my own defense between the Cartoon and Comic Sections I had over 760+ pages to move over, so if I’m honest I consider I’m the one with the biggest workload, LOL!
Manny, can you think of any automated ways to move some of the more generic pages over to wordpress? Is there a way to manage some of this in bulk somehow?

Hey Mark, there’s no way that any of the content can be moved over in bulk that I can see, as each page needs re-designing to incorporate the new site graphics, new fonts (from Trebuchet to Arial), etc., so every page needs re-building from scratch. It’s cool, I quite enjoy building webpages, I just wish I had a bit longer so I could do the work under less pressure…December is getting awfully close…

At my end, I’m plodding through the Good Characters profiles in the Encyclopedia section - it’s going slowly but well!
I’m still plodding away with what needs doing for the site relaunch, the Encyclopedia pages are going slowly but well - I’d say I’m at least two thirds of the way through, possibly a bit more than that!
My goal for November is actually a pretty basic one, just to get as much stuff completed as I can ready for the 1st December relaunch. Unless I can receive some help there’s no way that all my sections (Comic & Cartoon) will be completely ported over by 1st December, but I intend to do as much as my spare time will allow in that timeframe, at the very least I would have liked to have moved over the entire Cartoon Section!
I am concerned about how little of the Toy Section has been moved over given the impending deadline (and some point in December 2010, the date of the site’s 5th Anniversary, has been the deadline for this for a long, long time). I know MannyF has had a lot of crap to deal with in his personal life recently with deaths in the family, which I know from experience will always knock you for six - I was just wondering, Manny, if you could provide us with a status update on the Toy Section and how much you think is likely to be completed by 1st December?
Hey guys, have heard from Kyle about the banner and he’s pretty sure he can get us a cool Lambert-esque ThunderCats nav bar banner image in time for the relaunch.
As a back up plan I had someone on fiverr.com put this together as a placholder for us.
Just to give you guys a heads-up that I’m still plugging away here - the Encyclopedia is about 95% complete, I’ve got 12 more pages to do and the whole massive thing is complete (including all the information - so, the new pages will be more complete than the ones we have up currently). Then onto the Episode Guide!
