I was just wondering what everyone thought about doing a figure review of each figure. I got the idea from heman.org. I just dont want to copy them or anything. I think it could be a good idea, to promote discussion. If we all think its a good Idea I could start the thread(s) let each one of them run for a week or so. We could discuss them pertaining to the figure, and to the cartoon. I know different figures already have a thread but thats just about variants ans such.
Also what if we were to do something like the classic who would win thread,
or the screengrab caption thread
Matt if you could post a link of this from he-man.org I can get a full understanding of the figure review. As far as any threads that would encourage discussions I would be entirely up for that. Ive been trying off and on to come up with things to stirr up discussion in the forums but truthfully my creative mind can be limited at times. I dont think any thread you or anyone starts would be a waste of time because someone will sure read it and eventually someone will post. So Matt by all means start any threads you deem could promote discussion in the forums.
If the goal is to get more going in the way of discussion I wonder if there is a way that we can incorporate some of the same concepts that a site like Facebook runs off of?

The way that you can very easily and very quickly set up discussion threads, leave comments on photos and leave messages anywhere on the site. It’s all very interactive and makes this a sick site…
I was thinking that this would be powerful for the “fan ratings” that Chris has started puttinginto the episode reviews.
Is this a difficult bit of functionality to put in?
I know that a little bit of knowledge is a bad thing, so ignore me if I’m not making sense… lol
The only comment I’d make about doing ThunderCats figure review threads as opposed to the MOTU figures is that MOTU had many more different action features to make each figure unique - whilst the ThunderCats toyline had more detailed sculpts (at least IMO), and were much closer to the appearance of the characters in the cartoon than MOTU, they did basically have the same action feature, at least until the later waves. So in theory, if you liked Lion-O’s action feature, you would like Tygra’s too, and so on!
The other comment I’d make about forum activity is that, whilst I think activity on this site is slow, the community over at He-Man.Org has built up over many years, heavily aided by the revival of MOTU a few years ago - whilst interest in MOTU has died down, a lot of people liked the He-Man.Org community so much that they’ve stayed around. ThunderCats hasn’t had that (and, I’ll be honest and say, was never as “big” as He-Man back in the day to start with, even though it deserved to be), and so the online community for it is smaller as a result. A lot of TCats fans have found a comfortable online niche on Purrsia’s boards and on EOT’s boards, and so consequently we get about the same level of traffic that somewhere like www.castlegrayskull.org gets relative to He-Man.Org. IMO all we can do is make the site as interesting as we can, start interesting discussion threads on the Boards such as are being suggested, keep “on the ball” with news stories, keep updates happening as often as we can, and hope that the forum activity reacts accordingly!
I have to expresss the same feelings that Chris does in concern of figure reviews. The toy line although is IMO one of the best, it really didnt have a huge variety to keep reviewss going. However I am hoping (fingers crossed) that a weekly “Battle” will encourage more discussion. I must say that my creative mind is not the best and while I do all I can to keep the forums going with interesting discussions it is just simply not enough and so we get days at a time were the forums are just dead. All of us as team members should be thinking daily on things that could spark discussion wether it is a game,poll…anything to keep the forums going
