No one can really say until SDCC.
Yes and that can’t come quick enough!!!
Maybe there is some truth in the Super7 rumour? I personally know nothing of what’s going on other than the guy that was managing the Matty brands (Andrew Sparkes) has left Mattel (which is most likely the reason for the long silence)
However Val Staples on He-Man.org posted that MOTU fans shouldn’t throw in the towel just yet and he does have insider info. That’s not to say there definitely will be a 2017 line and it includes ThunderCats even. But the fact that 1/Super7 is selling the Mattel SDCC exclusives, 2/Super7 have a big announcement to make at SDCC and 3/Val said not to give up hope just yet makes me think Super7 might be somehow taking over. Again just speculation on my part given what we know.
i agree . we need to know one way or another what is going on .
Thanks for this post, it somehow gives me a little hope!!! So far Super7 are knocking MOTU fans out of the park with cool stuff coming, lets hope TC’s is not far behind!
I’m all for Super7 taking over the Classics lines if that’s what needs to happen. They put out quality products and rarely have huge delays. The only line I can think of that they never delivered on was a G1 Transformers tease they did a few years back at SDCC.
I have no experience with Super7’s products.
We will all just have to wait until 21st-24th July to see what is happening with Thundercats.
Well we’ve hit the T-minus 10 day countdown until the Con. I’m praying for some announcement from Mattel that we’ll get a 2017 sub for TC. Can’t wait to get my hands on the twins. Will be a good “companion” until the rest of my sub arrives in December!!! ![]()
So…um…
"You asked for it, and we’re making it happen! Due to popular demand, you’ll soon have the opportunity to buy the She-Ra® and Thundercats™: Wilykit and Wilykat™ SDCC 2016 exclusives directly from MattyCollector.com.
That means they will not be available at our booth during SDCC – they’ll only be part of our upcoming SDCC Online Sale in July. More information about the sale coming soon.
Quantities will be limited, so you’ll have to move fast to get them. Stay tuned for more details, as six more items from our Voucher Sale will also be available online, too!
Please note: If you pre-ordered She-Ra® or Thundercats™: WIlykit and Wilykat™ during our Voucher Sale, you’ll still pick them up at SDCC."
Good news for fans waiting to buy it online, but this is kinda confusing and overall poor last minute planning by Matty.
"That means they will not be available at our booth during SDCC "
" If you pre-ordered Thundercats WIlykit and Wilykat during our Voucher Sale, you’ll still pick them up at SDCC."
Was there ever an option to pick up figures without having a voucher to begin with? If not, what do they mean they will not be available at their booth, when voucher holders can still pick them up?
Is this something to do with the pick up being at Super7 instead? This was meant to be a Con exclusive and now one week before the event they change their plan.
SALE BEGINS: Monday, 7/18 at 9 a.m. PT
SALE ENDS: Sunday, 7/24 at 11:59 p.m. PT
I believe originally the vouchers were to reserve figures in case they sold out. You could’ve still bought them without the vouchers. Now you can only get them with a voucher.
I didn’t read it as a major change just that only those that preordered the vouchers can pick them up at the con. They won’t sell more at the show. It’s likely a combo of the change up rumors and the pressure from fans for making core characters con exclusives.

So fans who were hoping to grab one at the Con directly, now have to order it online and wait until it’s shipped out. Some are speculating that they don’t have enough figures in stock for next week, which is why they are not selling more at the con.
Right, that reasoning seems valid. I am surprised by the sale duration being one week though. Hopefully that means there will be plenty of stock for all and not being sold out in 24 hours.
Don’t forget tho that the sale is for more than just the ThunderKittens.
I would imagine that the ebay sellers have secured the vouchers for the SDCC or I would hope so! I purchased the kittens for about $90.
Would have liked early access for subscribers but maybe there will be a non SDCC version further down the line, like they used to do for MOTU.
And some new pics!! Awesome !!

And they have a black mailer box …
We will have to jump soon, these are going to go quick!!! :wilykit:wilykat
I’ll be travelling when these go up. Luckily I’ve got a set reserved from SDCC through a friend.
