Just checked ebay out of curiosity. Oh boy some of those prices are unbelievable. Why did Matty have to make these two exclusives. You can bet these are going to sell out fast when it becomes available on the website and most are probably going to be bought up by people selling them on ebay.

Making these two the SDCC exclusive was a poor idea. Maybe Mattel will release regular versions without the fancy packaging for all you guys who don’t get them later in the line, like they did with King Greyskull.

Matty just announced on Facebook that Third Earth subscribers will get early access to the SDCC voucher sale, so maybe they’ll also give us early access to the sale after the con.

Tried working out the cost to get these figures via ebay. Shipping internationally is an exorbitant $120!!! For customs at $70 odd plus and shipping at &50 odd plus!!! Then the kittens go for $130 and up! Making the final cost over $270!!! That’s an additional $210 I gotta fork out to get them. Obviously shipping is understandable, but shipping from BBT costs $20!!! So that’s already $30 over the normal charges. This is really horrible for us international collectors. Plus certain ebay folks only ship to your registered paypal account address, which means you can’t even ask a friend in the US to accept the package and the post it to you.
I hope so, as it would be the cheapest option to get them from Matty direct.
When you find that Good Samaritan, tell him / her I also want one. Plus one for my friend who I’ve subbed with.

I lucked out and found a friend of a friend of a good friend who is going to SDCC and they are picking one up for me. Ordered and confirmed earlier. I wonder how sales/ orders of this have been so far.

i just did a count on ebay. As of right now, a total of 45 on there. (45 includes listings that have more than 1 available). I can account for 1 more. Making it, as of now, 46 sales that can be accounted for.
If Thundercats subs sold 75% better than expected, shouldn’t Matty be releasing 75% more Kittens than originally anticipated. I hope they adjust for demand.

Yeah, I’ve got a sub (two subs, actually), and the ability to buy three sets of Wilykittens (note how the eBayers all have three sets to sell) would have been nice had Matty offered to ship them to us. I went ahead and bought a set on eBay for $125 shipped just to be safe. Yeah, it’s double the retail, but an SDCC badge (which I can’t even buy at this point) would have cost about $50, and though I live in southern California, the expense of driving down there and hanging out there for the day would have pushed it the final cost above $125. So there’s that. It’d be nice if Matty actually showed a bit more appreciation to the people responsible for supporting the line, but then again, Matty’s just a company, and not my best friend.
At least Lion-O wasn’t the SDCC exclusive…

I’m going to hold off until after SDCC with the hopes that Matty will have these for sale on their website after the con (plus I’m closing on a new house next month and every $$ matters at this point). I really don’t want to pay ridiculous Ebay prices for these - especially with the fate of the line still up in the air…
