It’s just needs incorporating into the site now, which Manny is working on (I tried, but couldn’t work out all the coding and just gave up as it was displaying weird) Probably best to put the finished page into the Merchandise section do you guys think? As the entry for that set, perhaps after the addition of all the specs at the top (such as running time, rating etc..)?
I’ll be sure to post a link in the S1V1 talkback thread once it’s up
That’s top stuff, Neil - I’ll admit I’ve just skimmed over it at the moment, but what a fantastic job writing such an in-depth article!
Some of those screengrabs look amazing, the best ThunderCats screengrabs I’ve ever seen - did you grab those images from the UK set yourself? If so, I think for all future Episode Guide pages I’m going to grab from the UK DVDs whenever possible!
The screengrabs look fantastic and sooooo much better than what we got here in the US, I must say that the review is excellent and so in depth. I think you just may have gotten yourself another job at making reviews for future UK releases. Great job, well done…cant think of anything that couldve been better
Thanks Chris To tell you the truth I didn’t mean for it to be that long, but once I started it I really got into it. Hopefully it answers any questions folks who haven’t picked it up might have.

Yes, they are indeed from the UK DVD’s. I think the reason why my first set of grabs were not so good is because I didn’t have the video set at full screen when I made those. With all the grabs on that review I did have the video playing at full screen. That’s the only explanation I can think of.
Manny, Angie and Kyle: Thanks for the thumbs up guys! Glad you think it’s ok
I initially didn’t know that Neil wanted it in the Merchandise area, but I think it would be easy to switch it over. I just need to switch the cartoon template (it’s different from the one I use) to the one that will be done for the Merchandise section, if that’s the final place for it. Neil, if there is something I missed (formatting-wise), let me know and I’ll fix it.
-The first screengrab is not loading. It should be named 1.jpg and found in the reviews folder. It’s a screengrab of the Thundercats.
-The images of Wil Wheaton and Celesta I want side by side rather than one underneath the other. I know this was how it was on my page I made, but could you possibly amend this for me?
-In the 2nd to last paragraph where I mention it being an HMV exclusive, the parts where ‘HMV’ is written contained the affiliate links to the HMV site in my version. Could you put those into the finished page as well?
That’s it! apart from those 3 things it’s perfect
As for what section it goes in, I don’t really mind. I just thought it would work in the Merchadise section. However come to think of it, I’ll probably just do a page in the Merchandise section for it just covering the packaging, episode list and specifications. Then I can post a link to this review on that page
So if Chris is happy to keep it in the cartoon section that’s fine with me
EDIT: Could you also title the review at the very top with Thundercats Season 1, Volume 1 DVD review (UK Region 2 edition)
and then underneath put Written by Neil (blackiecats)
I’m delighted to have such an excellent article hosted in the Cartoon Section, so no worries there! My concern would be that there’s currently no way of accessing this from the Cartoon Section’s index page - Kyle & I talked about having a “VHS/DVD releases” page in there, but never got round to incorporating it, largely because it also belongs in the Merchandise Section.
But, although truthfully I’m not yet sure what subsection I’d place it in, I’d happily add a link to this article to the Cartoon Section’s index page. And, I’m more than happy for it to be hosted in there!
