@ Best Buy 'til 12-02-06. Just in case anyone still needs these sets…
S2V1 is not $27.99 via their website and when I went to my nearest Best Buy, they didn’t have them in stock, so I’m not sure if it’s part of the sale.

Wow!
It kind of makes me upset that I spent nearly $55.00 for EACH set, and now they are releasing them at less than $30. I guess all is not bad, being that the box art is still art and not that hologram image that the first run had. Still, I feel cheated for buying early. If I could have predicted that this would have happened, I would have waited.
This can also be a very bad sign meaning that the stores are just trying to rid excess stock, which may mean that the Thundercats DVD sets did not sell well.
Thanks for posting this up though!
Oh, and tomorrow, the Final half of Season 2 comes out, at least, at Best Buy and maybe Barnes and Noble. Secretly, I can’t wait and will definitely buy it tomorrow. I figured that, since I brought the others the first day it came out, it makes little sense to wait a whole year for the price to drop (if it does).
I stil say that Warner Video did a bad job with the extras and with getting the best and most complete footage to transfer to DVD. With just a little more care, just a little, this DVD set could have been something special. DOn’t get me wrong, I like it, but know that in the right hands, it would have made every Thundercat fan wet their pants.
We were the art (hardcopies or digital), Q&A, Phamplet episode guide (what was in the He-Man DVD sets), Bios, behind-the-scenes interviews on the CREATORS of the show, not just the talent that brough it to life, where were the writers and the artists during that ONE interview, better, LOUDER sound quality was desperatley needed. I could go on a little more, but you get the picture. Lol…
I have this hidden, funny feeling that the Thundercats will be re-released a few years from now in either the Blue-Ray or HD-DVD format and some of the issues I mentioned will be fixed. Of course, it will cost more and Warner Bros. will probably expect us to buy it again. Lol…
I don’t know about that. Recently BCI released comparative figures for sales of the He-Man S1V1 boxset against sales of Thundercats S1V1 and surprisingly (I believe) the Thundercats set sold about 50,000 more copes than the He-Man did! I actually thought He-Man had a bigger fan base than Thundercats, but obviously I was wrong! lol
Yeah, definately! Thanks Manny!
However with the UK region 2 S1V1 boxset out in January I’m gonna wait to get the complete season 1 on UK PAL region 2 DVD (fingers crossed they release S1V2 over here next year as well) So I’ll pass on this offer.
I have someone picking up a copy for me. Even though it seems the DVD’s are being released here in the UK, there is no guarantee we will get season 2 and if we do it will be a long way off. I bought the region 1 S2V1 straight away so I figured I might as well complete the season on region 1 DVD to tide me over until the region 2 season 2 DVD sets are released (if they get that far that is)
Well, I know that when I went to Best Buy, the DVDs were in the “Best Sellers” section so I’m assuming that it’s doing very well. Seeing as though I didn’t even see a trace of S2V1 (the one I was looking for), makes it sound like Tcats is doing very well at retailers.
I just wish they did well because Warner did an amazing job on it. ![]()
Sorry, you’re mistaken. You CAN get S2V1 for $27.99, but S2V2 is $41.99
You’re right! Good lord, I need to track me down a copy at a local Best Buy…I swear when I checked the site out to get those two links above, S2V1 was not $27.99.
Thanks for letting me (us) know!
